I am working on trying to increase the community of the class and to offer more help for the assignments. I have also started letting students redo pretty much all assignments at this point. 

My second goal is to provide more scholars of color and indigenous scholars as well as more experiences from bot.     Using this approach, marginalized students will, hopefully, feel motivated and engaged to succeed in the courses I teach.

    I will know that I have made progress when I hear it from students, either directly from them, or in the quality and engagement of the work they submit.

    The theme that resonated most with me in this part of the EMTLI process is that student engagement and success depends so much on how content and communication is perceived by each student.
