This report shows the population is made up of 53.3% of Women and 47.7% of Men. 

. The 70-74 age group is the highest demographic in Henley-in-Arden, making up 9.6% of the population, it also is high from the ages of 45+. This could show that large demographic on Henley-in-Arden could suffer from loneliness, which could effect the success and popularity of the pop-up. However through the use of the community board, seating, food and drink served, it could be the perfect social gathering. 

The largest age group (per five years) is 70-74, making up 9.6% of the overall population, as well as all age groups drastically increasing after 45+, which would imply families and couples who are financially stable would settle in Henley-in-Arden. Barbour grew it’s trust and respect from loyal customers, which then also had an international success when Duncan Barbour, who took over in 1936 introduced a “one-piece wax cotton suit called the Barbour International. Developed Specifically for the 1936 International Six Day Trials (ISDT) event, and hence its name, the Barbour International became so popular that it was worn by virtually every rider on the ISDT circuit from the 1950s to the 1970s including actor Steve McQueen in 1964.” 

 This clothing appeals to a different target audience and had a different purpose to serve, however is also worn in mainstream fashion. The range still provides Motorbike Clothing; however, it is made known it offers no protection on sale. It is also when the Barbour brand offers a more ‘alternative look’ with slightly more edgy designs, opposed to the traditional Barbour classic wax jacket.

It is a very clean and simplistic layout across both and the images are adapted to fit on the phone screen, so there's no missing out when using the website through mobile devices. They have an editorial feel, which reflects their stores also. Most of their stores are also minimalistic and almost feel gallery like, similarly to how the images on the homepage feel like an online photography exhibition, as they are photos with more of a story, they invite you in and have an artistic story behind them, instead of just showcasing the products on models with a plain background/mannequins. This fits perfectly with their target customer, who is most likely 25-35, with a more disposable income, well educated with an interests in the arts, theatre, photography, museums etc... They also use user generated content, this gives the feel of a community and a lifestyle, that most likely the customer wants to be part of.

Their use of branding is very strong. With the 'Jil Sander' logo being in a bold, san serif font, bigger than any of the surrounding writing is simple and effective, giving a highbrow  flare. 

This is a clear example of successful Online Visual Merchandising.

91% of them believe they have an outdoor, active lifestyle. This relates to the Barbour lifestyle. 

82% have a dog, so there will be enough people with dogs in the area to participate in the competition. 

82% they like to take the dog out for the day with them and 65% are put off by locations where their dogs are not welcome, therefore the pop-up shop will be dog friendly. 

Barbour took the majority vote for what brand they'd like to see come to Henley-in-Arden's high street, with 62.87% compared to North Face 26.9%, Mountain Warehouse 4.35% and Cotswold Outdoor 8.7%.

95.65% also answered yes to the following question: 

Would you like your shopping trip to be more of an experience? e.g. coffee and hot drinks available in stores, locally sourced food, seating areas, communal boards, and events.


These results show that Barbour could be a successful brand on Henley-in-Arden high street, as well as the coffee machine and community board idea and dog competition.

"Of course, when marketing a woman’s product to a woman, you project the benefit to her as a consumer but if marketing to her husband, you project the benefit to him for making her happy.

This paired well with the Barbour International Concept, as it rarer, has a younger and bolder design and also may be bought as a slight novelty gift amongst tourists. 
Covent Garden had the Barbour street Gold, however this was the weakest of the stores. The concept behind Barbour Gold wasn't as strong as the other stores, it lacked flare and was safe, suggesting they Barbour isn't as confident with their target audience in that area.     This shows a need for new experiences on the high street as well as ensuring the right location is chosen.
