Prometheus gave fire to the humans as if to give them life, so that they might create and build and survive, just as Frankenstein gives life to his monster. And just as Prometheus is cast out of the society of the gods, his influence on Frankenstein causes the doctor to be cast out of his society because of his creation as well. This is a common theme among the three works.
Frankenstein suffers from depression. This causes him to wish for his own death, but when it doesn't come he views his existence as miserable and a punishment for what he has done.
Samson loves his wife Delilah and is infatuated with her beauty. This beautiful creature, however, tricks him and he tells her the secret of his hair. Delilah uses this against him so that he may be caught and apprehended. This betrayal by Delilah and her cutting his hair seems to be punishment for trusting her.
