This exhibition is about the human anatomy of the male body throughout the years specifically the male figures. The three different male figures shown to discuss the human anatomy for the male body are the Menkaure, The Votive figure, and Classical, Polykleitos Doryphoros. Each of these figures were created in different points in time and throughout time each figures human anatomy became more realistic showing more an idealized look. Each figure was curated with different materials as time passed showing change in each figures work. The main focus is the structure of the body as time passed you can vividly see the difference in each artist vision of their idea of the human body. It truly and interesting sight as we can see a major progression from Menkaure to Polykleitos as it is a major difference.

The materials used for this figure was Slate
King Menkaure is also pictured with his queen but we are focusing on the male anatomy so it will be King Menkaure. During his time period he was known as "Serene ethereal beauty, raw royal power, and evidence of artistic virtuosity" just to name a few words about this sculpture. The human anatomy on this sculpture realistic but still not as realistic compared to Canon. His shoulders are rounded his arms seem to be defined. His chest and abdominal region are not defined but you can see what the idealized look was. His stance is he at a stand still with closed fists. For the time of the sculpture his human anatomy is fairly realistic showing all the features distinguishing from the female counterpart.

The materials used for this particular figure was limestone
The standing male worshippers Human anatomy isn't as prevalent as the other two and is not as large as well but you can distinguish the male anatomy between his female counterpart. As stated the human anatomy on this male figure is prominent, but his eyes are enlarged to show the idealized look the artist was going for. His long beard is distinguishable as both other figures are bare faced as. His shoulders are straight and do not have a shape. You can see that he is at a stand still as he doesn't have a bend and has his together in a praying postiton as he is praying. This figure may not have the idealized human anatomy but as figure you can see the idealized looked as a worshiper in this time period and what was the normal.

The original copy was made out of bronze but the materials used for this figure is marble.
Polykleitos, Doryphoros also known as Canon he was the standard for male beauty. As you can see there is a major difference from him to Menkaure. He is in contrapposto so he is in a leaning position. The way he is designed is in proportions as stated it should be "of finger to finger, and of all the fingers to the palm and the wrist, and of these to the forearm, and of the forearm to the upper arm, and of all the other parts to each other." You can see the human anatomy of his body is more defined as you can see his shoulders more prominent, his chest region is rounded and plated, you can see that he is in a more natural position rather than standing still. Canon shows that the male anatomy took a drastic change so it is very intersesting to see a dramatic change
