I came to class from Monty's dining hall, so I had to walk along the great lawn to get to class. The walkways around campus in this area are pretty populated and busy, with some spots where you can rest on the sides, due to the high traffic volume it is safe to say it would be impolite to stop in the middle of the path, blocking others in their paths, and holding up the area. As well as to stay clear of the stairs, as they are not a space for people to lounge they are constantly in use with people getting to where they need to be.

• How does the history of this space contribute to its current atmosphere and purpose?

The college campus is pretty old, it being evident in many of the campus' buildings, showing their age throughout the years that they were built, some older and newer than others. It also have a heavy focus on walking as the main means of transportation with plenty of pathways and sidewalks leading everywhere on campus.

• In what ways does this space promote or prohibit/discourage certain kinds of social interactions?

With the campus being very open and having to walk almost everywhere it would seem to encourage social interactions, with plenty of third locations that people could hang around at, the business of the foot traffic can make it a tad difficult but there are plenty of spaces you can go to to get away from the rush.

I would certainly say anyone is welcomed here, but if they feel that way is another story. Me personally I don't feel welcome in certain spots around campus because they feel like they are designed for larger groups of people or at least pairs of two, however since I am always on my own, i have to find more secluded or single deigned spaces to hang around, otherwise it feels rude to be taking up such a large space for just one person, when a whole group could be enjoying the space instead.

• How are power dynamics expressed in this space? Who seems to hold authority? How is that authority demonstrated?

Authority is demonstrated by the staff of the school and above all the security and or public safety staff who patrol around.

• What are the economic factors that determine access to this space? Are there hidden costs/invisible barriers?

it's college so pretty much costs a lifetime of debt to attend here, unless your visiting then it's free, otherwise you got to pay thousands to be here :/

• How do different social identities (such as, age, gender, religion, ability, race etc.) exist or do not exist in this space?

They all exist here, but definitely given the air around society today as well as how this is a catholic school, many people do not feel comfortable to be so open about such things, not to mention the heavy presence of a different religion of your own which might have opposing views to your morality or even life style can be incredibly uncomforting to some more than others. The different genders, religions, beliefs, etc., may be here but aren't always expressed.

• Are there any visible or invisible signs of social control or surveillance within this space?

It's a closed gated college campus there's surveillance and control everywhere, with cameras all over campus.

• How does the maintenance of the space reflect the values of the people or the communities that have access to it?

The campus is incredibly clean most of the time, and nothing appears to be in disarray or broken, it is very well kept and quite beautiful. The nature is also well taken care of and thriving.

As a minority, and as someone who's neurodivergent, I often struggle to navigate the social rules of what is and isn't accepted so I often keep to myself, and while I enjoy the campus and find it very beautiful, and am grateful that I can learn all the thing's I need for what i wish to accomplish in life here, the heavy religious influence here makes me quiet uncomfortable, so i often tend to stay away from most common spaces as well as my lack of a social circle means I don't really have many reasons to stick around in such common spaces. Never the less, I have not been given any issues about that and am still happy to attend here.

• What biases might you have about this space and the people who are seen or not seen here?

I would assume most of the people here are college students working somewhat hard towards their major's but really not much else.
