2. Corrimal bushcare group(CorriCare) - DEEP DIVE

The key justice concern is protecting the ecosystems of the site during the planning and potential building process.

This is an environmental issue because the potential plan has many impacts on the surrounding ecosystem present, effecting both the Flora and Fauna in the Corrimal Cokeworks sight. The plan that is currently present has many factors that have significant changes to the ecosystem and further more effects all living organisms within the area. The key impacting change within this area is the proposal to move the current creek that flows across the sight, by moving this creek it is said to reduce flooding potential and increase housing available within the sight, however this does not come without many side affects to the surrounding wildlife and biodiversity within this small yet significant area.

SUPPORTING FACTORS
The group's main focus is the preservation of ecosystems and advocating for biodiversity conservation and maximizing habitat. Therefore the Corrimal coke works challenges the group's ideologies. Although, there are a few aspects in which the planning proposal could include that could lead to the support of the Corrimal bush care. One of which is that the group could ensure that parks and communal gardens would be apart of the plan and built within the plan. Studies have shown the positive impacts of gardens and parks have had on urbanized societies. They are important in urban areas as they reduce temperatures, noise, pollution, and maintain the balance of the earth. Although, the proposal contradicts the groups key concerns the group could potentially support the proposal if those ideas were included.

CONFLICTING FACTORS
The most significant factors that possess very detrimental effects as a result of the proposal, include the effects on both Flora and Fauna within the sight. In a field study it was recognised "two significant native vegetation communities were identified within the study area" , this included "Moist Blue Gum Blackbutt Forest located along Towradgi Creek to the south of the sight" and another area "of Coastal Grassy Red Gum Forest in the north-west corner of the site", all though these sections may be small this does not effect the importance it must be placed on critical these plants are to the surrounding ecosystem. Further into the proposal it is mentioned how the Moist Blue Black Gum may provide significant habitat for Grey Headed Flying Foxes an endangered ecological community.

RESEARCH EVIDENCE
1. Houston, D, Hiller, J, MacCallum, D, Steele, W & Byrne, J (2018)
'Make kin, not cities!

In accordance to the Corrimal Bushcare group, as members of these stakeholder we have decided to object the current proposal.
The current proposal has significant detrimental effects to the Flora and Fauna within the area, this being said most of the proposal contradicts our key concerns. The endangered ecological community of the Grey Headed Flying foxes is a key priority to our group, thus it is in our best interest to support this species by rejecting the current proposal.
