For each issue, the authors present action steps for Georgia.
The government on a level can come in and provide assistance for struggling schools. Schools also have to report to the state in a variety of ways. For example, the link states, Georgia’s ESSA plan is built around cultivating the whole child. Some reporting includes accounting for attendance, school climate, and investing in Positive Behavior Interventions, and it also requires supports within each district and every school. These are just a few examples listed in the article. These interventions on state level have positive and negative affects on student learning. It provides accountability for educators, but it also causes our focus to shift to worrying about our scores. We should be focusing on teaching our students and fostering a love for learning.

Mass customization can be seen in society with the idea that everyone wants to be an individual. For example, you can't just buy Nikes anymore, you must customize your own to be cool or trendy. When it comes to fashion, everyone wants to look different than everyone else.

As it pertains to schools, there are a lot more choices. Having the power to choose between charter schools, magnet school, Christian schools, and having the power to choose between them based on what YOU SPECIFICALLY WANT has become the status quo. These schools have a "thing" to market, and a way to make you feel like you need it because it was designed just for you.

In the job field, the cool thing is to do a job that no one else exactly does. You can do "a little bit of this, a little bit of that." ex. content developer/editor There is a shift away from standardized work. Even in the work force, everyone wants to be an individual.

However, a sustained drop in immigration levels and fertility rates would slow the pace of minority population growth. It’s too soon to tell whether these are short-term trends resulting from the U.S. economic downturn, or whether they will continue in the future. But either way, these current trends represent a significant departure from developments over the past decade."

Shift from standardization to customization. There is confusion in what should be standardized and what should be customized. Most can agree that while we focus on standardized testing and scores we lack how to truly customize a student's unique learning goals. For example, students with IEP's require customized learning approach but are not tested in the same manner. Another example we can provide is the shift to Stem approach that allows an individual approach. Also, differentiation must be done to genuinely meet the needs of our children not just for the sake of implementing the idea of differentiation. Student based learning is key based on their learning goals rather than teacher based learning. This is the best description of Mass Customization.
