One of the first greek inmigtants, Giorgos Kolmaniatis, was important for the Argentina Independence Wars (1810-1825). He was a sailor, so he teached to the argentina's war sailors to drive boats better.

Another greek, Samuel Spiro, was defeated in the same war, and the he destroyed his own boat because he didn't want to surrender to the enemies.
