Pear Deck

Pear Deck is a Google Slides add on. Pear Deck allows educators to add an interactive component to their presentations. The tool has features like formative assessments and interactive questions. We used this my first day of field experience. I would compare it to kahoot but it is not limited to multiple choice. Students could answer by providing a visual or interacting with pictures. Teachers are also able to see students select answers. One drawback is it's not currently free for creators but it is free to join a quiz. I would 100% recommend it.

iCivics is an online a free online resource. It provides games and lessons based on American civics history. From the Constitution to International Affairs, iCivics has a lot of different assessments for students. One assessment I remember from high school dealt with gerrymandering. It was a virtual simulation that best explained how districts could divided fairly or biased manner. The program is free and has been around for a while. I would definitely recommend it.

Blooket is a free online resource. It provides assessments for teachers to use for lessons. Rather than only providing the basic review game like Kahoot, Blooket provides a variety of games that can be used for assessments and review time. Games include; Cafe, Tower of Doom, Battle Royale, etc. It also provides easy use for teachers. First if you have already made a quizlet for students to study with you can just upload that quizlet and it will compile those questions for you. Also at the end of game Blooket provides detailed score reports for each student. It is free, and easy so I would highly recommend it.

Jamboard

Jamboard is a program that allows students to interact online with an activity a teacher has created. It was developed by Google, therefore it is compatible with Google services. Teachers can design a slide with questions and students can fill it out with their own answers. I would compare it posting a worksheet online. But students do not have to print it off or download a copy. They also have a lot interactive ways to answer questions like using notes, or drawing. We used it in my classroom last week to discuss a John Adams movie we watched. Students were to fill out the jamboard while watching the movie. I would 100% recommend it as a new way to get work done.
