I said this in our last class with you, but I will say it again. Our system is flawed. How can we expect the students who received support in high school to now be on their own? It is not fair. Dr. Teresa Shiels stated: “one size does not fit all”. We need to deconstruct this mindset and work with all students to optimize their success. This is when the tears started for me. I was deeply impacted by this presentation. 

I cannot express how much Dr. Shiels impacted me. She is a hero. When the days are tough, I will remember all that she overcame. She is a role model. This framework is powerful. Therefore, I was very eager to visit St. Flannan’s Cathedral. Lately, I have not felt too connected to the church because of the world we live in. However, I still appreciate the beauty of the church. Once I walked into the cathedral, I was consumed by my previous positive feelings of the church. It was beautiful. Again, it was difficult to hear the tour guide, but I was able to gain a few insights. The cathedral marks the transition between the Romanesque and Gothic periods. The roof was raised so the priest could view the church from his home. I also took pictures of the remembrance frames on the wall. The frames highlighted the successes and losses of the individuals highlighted. The Cliffs of Moher was an excellent experience. When we approached the Cliffs, I was speechless. I do not think I ever saw anything so beautiful up close. I wish we had more time to explore, because I do not think I had enough time to see everything. What I saw was magnificent. It was special to see how popular the Cliffs of Moher were. It is obvious that the Irish people are proud of this landmark and will ensure it is regarded as a stunning legacy. To me it symbolizes the beauty that remained after a period of tragedy.
