Music videos are still used to this day, although they are now more generic and there isn't much thought put into them. YouTube is the place where the videos are mostly viewed. Before YouTube, the music videos were shown on tv stations like Mtv, VH1, etc. Also tv shows like top of the pops were very common places to find new music videos. YouTube allows other people to re-upload videos and react to other people's videos without any copyright issues. This makes it more difficult for the original videos to get more views. On tuesday, we Gathered primary research by creating questionnaires, focus groups and Vox Pops. When making the Vox pops I worked alongside Ben and Jake. At first I didn't think we would be very productive as we all have found ourselves getting distracted by one another before. This time things were different though as we were the only group to manage to get more than one person to answer the questions. The Questionnaire that I made was very informative but i didn't get enough responses to get a general response. I think this is because I only asked family members and only put it onto one social media platform. To get more reposes I am going to put it onto all of my social media platforms. I didn't complete the focus group today so I am going to complete it at home to make sure I am up to date. On the wednesday we completed some secondary research. This included researching different techniques that are used in different music videos.

On tuesday we watched lots of music videos ranging from the 50's when music videos were basically non existent to the 2000's where the music videos are made to a much better quality. This was a very helpful task as it meant we could use the notes to improve our own work and the videos as inspiration for our own music videos. On wednesday, we looked at the different styles of music videos. This was quite a lengthy task but it was very helpful as I now have more of an idea as to what type of mdic video I want to make.
