the quote shows that Beneatha is determent because she wont let anyone or anything  get in the way of her dream of being a doctor. Beneatha is saying in this quote how the only thing she is worried about is dream. this shows that she is determent because determent people do not let anything get in there way.  Beneatha  also shows that she's determent by saying that she is going to be a doctor and not that she wants to be a doctor

This shows that Beneatha is independent because she doesn't want good to get credit for things that she feel she does on own. I think Beneatha knows what she want do in life  but she still struggles with her identity and she is all over the place when it comes to that. yes i sympathize with Beneatha because she following her dream but is struggling to afford it.
