Would you like to join the Royal Berkshire Hospital Youth Forum?  The purpose of the Youth Forum is for the views of young people in our local community who are aged between 16- 24 to be to get them heard and involved in the decisions made by the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Information is attached on the Youth Forum and an application form for students to apply above.  Students will require a referee for their applications.

Choices magazine is the ultimate parent and carer guide to apprenticeships and technical education!

Our Foundation Course is the ideal place to start your career in racing. Whether you have some experience of riding and horses, or are a complete beginner, the British Racing School’s Foundation Course is the perfect stepping-stone to turn your passion for horses into a rewarding career working with some of the finest equine athletes on the planet.

The course is for 16-25 year olds and is split into two parts:

• Level 1 Diploma which takes place at the British Racing School over 12 or 18 weeks (depending on experience), and

• Level 2 Diploma where we will find you a full time paid job working in Horse Racing Yard where you can continue your training and begin an apprenticeship, fully supported by The British Racing School

Entry is free, and submissions are open now! Students can enter short films made between 2024–2026 in one of three age categories:

• Under 11

• 12–15

• 16–19

Films can be up to 3 or 5 minutes long, and shortlisted entries will be screened in a cinema awards ceremony before the winners are announced!

Free filmmaking workshops will also run from January to March 2026 in Reading and Goring & Streatley, covering story development, filming, sound, and editing — perfect for beginners and aspiring creatives.

This opportunity also links well with the Duke of Edinburgh Award (Skills section) — check with your DofE Leader if it can count towards your award.
