My claim is that people with bigger household sizes use more water than people with smaller household sizes. Many people don't realize how much water they use on a day to day bases and that's the problem.

As a class we individually collected data on how many people lived in our house and did some research to see how much water our household uses each day. We then put all of our data together to compare to see how much each of our houses uses everyday.

This shows that many households use around the same amount of water per day. Many people use high amounts even though they have the same amount of people as other households. This shows that those homes just tend to use more water, it doesn't have anything to do with the amount of people.

Slope = 320.51

Y-Intercept = -502.30

These show that the average difference between household sizes is 320.51 gallons of water. The average amount between all households would be -502.30 gallons a day. My house falls within the lower amount. I have 3 people total in my household and we use about 500 gallons a day.

While bigger households do use more water, it's not true for all households. Some smaller sized homes use large amounts of water. Some people don't have water conservation friendly homes which could be the cause of such high water amounts.

My new claim statement would be that certain households use more water than others based on decisions that they make everyday.

We can use this information to try and balance out the water usage between all household sizes. It is possible for smaller household sizes to use under 1000 gallons a day so everyone in that category should be able to. There can be strict rules or homes built to have a way to conserve water on a daily basis.
