One does not lose meaning or significance as we might break through the passing of time. These artworks have proven that even though we might be broken, we still have a story to tell; we do not exist amongst the lost or forgotten, we exist amongst survivors. Even if we leave shards of ourselves in the past, our story remains the same, and we can continue to learn from it. Artifact I shows us a common phrase from its place of origin, displaying the importance of religion in its cultural background. Artifact II tells a story of crime,murder, and revenge, the paternal vs. maternal obligations. Artifact III displays an interconnection between distant and nearby lands, as well as the exploitation of animals and animal products. The style is completely unique to its origin, its difficult to place most ivory artifacts as most ivory materials have been stolen or collected.

Even if they are broken we do not lose sight of their value. Even though these artifacts are different in meaning, they all have one thing in common, they survived.
