They are a wonderful resource for building "Earthships" which are durable, well insulated buildings that can provide community and resource centers, crèches, low cost houses, in fact whatever structure that could fulfill a need in all communities. And yet we throw millions of tyres away every year. The art of building with tyres is fairly simple and cost effective. So under the guidance of a skills trainer, there are grounds for employment and skills development among people who have little education and limited opportunity.
