“All one can really leave one’s children is what’s inside their heads. Education, in other words, and not earthly possessions, is the ultimate legacy, the only thing that cannot be taken away.
This quote is saying you can only impact kids in their heads. Education will stay with them forever and they will continuously use it, unlike possessions which they may enjoy in the moment. Their mind is always with them and no one will ever be able to take it away. The theme of this quote is that it is important to train the mind and educate it because a person will always have it with them.

“All I’ve done is give you a book. You have to have the courage to learn what’s inside it.”
This quote is describing how a book is a paper with a bunch of ink and letters. Your imagination can lead you to see it however you want. A book can have many meanings. If you dig deep enough into it you can find other meanings that some people may have never thought about. That is the beauty of books
