The beliefs of Calvinism involves the fate of people and their after-lives. The belief is that the fate of someone is already chosen the second they are born, and there is nothing that can change this "fate". The person is either chosen or not chosen, heaven or hell. This belief affected some people behavior to always act as if already chosen, because they don't want to go to hell. In these trials were many innocents and falsely accused people were tested for being a witch or not. This fear of imposters or witches among them led to lots of deaths. (Pun not intended) Some of the tests involved using needles to see if the entity or person being accused can feel pain, seeing if the person floats on holy water, and many more crazy made up things were tested. Some people believed that people were faking, and evidence has shown that people really did think there were witches. Some believe that people overreacted due to boredom, which led to crazy beliefs and thoughts. Although more evidence shows that the old reports have had some strange thing in them. Some teenagers at the time liked to visit and explore due to boredom, and then encountered Tituba. Here with some tribes like to share some of their culture which involve showing "images and visions" in smoke or water. Some of the teenagers panicked after this and spread rumors of witch craft and curses. More reports and rumors like this led to over-reactions like people believed of being scratched, and witches being in their homes. All of this chaos and attacks from tribes led to the belief that all of the natives in the lands are Devils.
