  I made this chocolate cake with salted caramel icing for my home economics class. I had to adjust the recipe as I’m vegan but it turned out pretty good, it doesn’t look very pretty but it was super tasty. In our English class we are studying Forrest Gump, the movie and the book. I have seen Forrest Gump before but I’ve never read the book. We are still very early on In the book but so far I am enjoying it. It’s written differently to things I would normally read but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

  Jona, Caoimhe, Aimee, Isabella, Anita and I made an iMovie trailer for our arts and drama class. We really enjoyed it and we spent a lot of time on it. 

  I really enjoyed editing it and seeing the final product but I wasn’t a fan of acting in it.

 Thursday the fifth of November the year went to the hall to race remote control cars. 

 People from our year set up a track for us out of pe equipment and we took turns racing each other. I raced jona and she won.

 The games were cut short when disaster struck and the cars were no longer fit for racing so it ended early.

 A group of students organised a car  wash for the teachers cars.

 Jona and I washed a car together, we used a power hose and buckets of water and sponges.

 On Thursday our year played call of duty in rooms one and two.

 Sean and Andrew set it up and we all were in teams of two. Isabella and I were on a team 

 We played against other teams and my team won once and lost twice.

 We did a series of quizzes the middle three classes on Thursday the 19th of November.

 The first was most of the students and a few teacher submitted baby photos of themselves and we had to guess who was who. I got some of my close friends and a few others but it was very difficult. It was good fun though.

 The second quiz was about jobs teachers had had and other facts about the teachers. It was done kahoot style. 

 The third was guessing what embarrassing thing happened to who. Mine was that I got stuck on top of a bunk bed, most people figured it was me.  Due to covid open day can’t go as normal so we are making videos for each subject and getting teachers to speak for them and videoing the classes.

Caoimhe, jona, aimee and I made a snowman to decorate our school for Christmas. 

We started by sourcing our materials from the schools scrap materials. We used sheets and pillow cases and some felt.

We then cut the materials to the shapes we needed them and we used a sewing machine to sew the pieces Together.

  Caoimhe, jona and I were head of the costumes for the greatest showman video that ty is working on this year.

  We have spent ages going through the schools costumes and making plans with people to bring in some for us. 

  Below is an example of costumes we sorted. We also have a few random jackets or items of clothing that people can pair with things from home. 

As the video is being recorded we are currently sorting out the costumes not being used and making plans on how to make sure everyone who gave us clothes and props gets them back

 On Monday evening we were all given an egg and some paper to mind for three days. We had to decorate them and there was a prize for the best decorated egg.

If you broke your egg you got grounded and if you couldn’t have it out in 30 seconds at all times you got grounded.

Many eggs were broken but I was able to keep jisung safe until second class on Thursday morning. Those whose eggs were safe at the end got an extra pe Class!

 Anita Isabella and aimee organised a treasure hunt for the first years, Caoimhe, David and I helped out in keeping the first years together and getting them from the classrooms.

We brought them one year group at a time so there was three groups (a b and c). 

We hid bags with crisps and treats in them around outside and they went one group at a time to search for them. Once the group went back in we starting hiding the treats for the second group.

  Throughout December we did multiple dance classes with michelle bell and we had out last one this morning. 

  These dances were for the greatest showman performance that ty is doing this year. The dances are simple but i think they will look well on camera.

  This week the filming for the greatest showman began. We started filming on Monday and we were able sort the costumes out to go back to their owners on Thursday evening.
 
  Jona, Caoimhe , Aimee and I were in charge of costumes and we spent the week getting costumes to people and back again at the end of the day. 

  I was in a few of the dance scenes in the background with everyone else.

  Today Melanie from reptile haven came in to give us a talk about reptiles and snakes. She brought in a few to show us.

  She first had three cornsnnakes named tiger pretzel and imposter. The picture below is of me holding one of them. 

  Then she brought out two bearded dragons called Bruce and amber. They were really calm and I fed one of them a locust.

  Next was a chameleon named cruise. He was really cool and he liked to climb people.

  Next were the crested geckos named spikey Mike and Martha. I held spikey Mike and he was a fort bottomed gecko meaning his tail had dropped off ages ago and crested geckos don’t re-grow their tails.

  After came out the tortoises slim Jim and sally. They were different types of tortoise and even though sally was younger she was much bigger than slim Jim.

And finally came Oreo the tegu. He was massive even though he had lost his super long tail a few weeks prior to coming in.
