We cannot all be masters, not all masters cannot truly be followed.” We see Iago putting in question the true power of his “master” which he follows in order to earn more power for himself. Shakespeare shows that the society he lives in (1600s Europe) has an unhealthy power structure where people like Iago seek to manipulate their masters to their own ends.</div>]]></description>

(4.2, 82-84) <br>Shakespeare uses dramatic irony of Iago’s planning and the effects it causes others to show his perspective on the people’s blindness of the flaws of society in the 1600’s. There are many of Iago’s soliloquies throughout the play and the person Iago is talking about in these soliloquies do not know what’s going on in the mind of Iago.          <description><![CDATA[<div>“But for my sport and profit, I hate the Moor, and it is thought abroad that twixt my sheets has done my office.”<br>Act 1, Scene 3, Lines 429-431<br><br>This is an apostrophe, where one character addresses the audience or talks to themselves to give the reader an insight into a characters mind. In this case, Iago refuses to name Othello. He instead simply calls him The Moor, which is derogatory  towards Othello by simply calling him by his race. In addition, name-calling rarely uses compliments, meaning being Moorish in Venetian society is like being inferior to others.</div>]]></description>
