  • Abortions in Kenya are not permitted unless a medical professional deems there be need for an emergency treatment or if the life and/or health of the mother is at risk. Someone can also have an abortion if the pregnancy was a result of rape. 
  • If someone unlawfully forces a person to have an abortion in Kenya they can imprisoned for 14 years regardless if she has a child or not.
  • A person who has an abortion to terminate a pregnancy they’re aware of unlawfully at own will can be sentenced to 7 years in prison.
  • A person who supplies another with the medicine and/or procedure against the law is punished to three years in prison.
  • Surgical removal of the pregnancy is not punished by state if it is in protection of the mother’s health.
