Before reading Thoreau’s Civil Disobedience, I thought a citizen was a person who lived in a specific area and follows all of their civic duties, but now I believe a good citizen is a person who lives in a certain area, but follows their personal morals, even if it goes against what society tells them is right. They don’t allow society to tell them what is right or wrong, and if they feel that something is wrong, they will speak up and fight for what’s right.

Elizabeth Eckford is a prime example of a citizen because she fought for her education, despite how people felt at the time. When members of society, even people in charge, tried to hold her back, she continued to prosper and get her education. Now she is a role model for not only African American students, but for individuals all over

Before I though citizenship meant people recognized by the government that do there civic duties and civic responsibility. Now, I believe a good citizen to be one who is fair to all and critiques their government for the betterment of the country. A good community citizen knows the problems around them and tries to help in any way possible. A good national citizen knows who their representative is and knows how to advocate for change. A good global citizen stays up to date with the politics between their country and other countries.
Mother Teresa is a good citizen because she set up shelters for those in need of shelter, food, and water. As a result of Mother Teresa's kind heart, many other shelters were established and homelessness was minimized.

Before reading Thoureau's Civil Disobedience, I thought citizenship meant people of a nation who perform civic duties and civic responsibilities for their nation. Now I believe a good citizen who performs civic duties and civic responsibilities, but keeps in account their morals and what they believe in while doing so. In Civil Disobedience he talks about how your personal morals have to become before the civil duties and civil responsibilities, so you don't become a pawn of the nation. So you stay pure and true to yourself. A good citizen in the community is someone who performs their civic duties and civic responsibilities by paying taxes, going to school, voting, volunteering, etc., but also stays true to themselves and what they believe in. A good example of a good citizen in our community is someone who performs all those duties and responsibilities, but for example fight for what they believe in peacefully like with the West Lake Landfill. A good citizen of the nation was Martin Luther King who
performed his civic duties and responsibilities, but also stood up for what he believed in and what he felt was right. He didn't follow laws that went against his morals and ended up fighting and creating change. A good citizen of the world is the people of the holocaust who hid Jewish families and snuck Jewish people and kids out of places where Jews were being killed. They stood for their morals and risked their lives in order to fight for what they believed is right. To be a good citizen in the community you should show up for local elections and vote, perform of juries, volunteer, etc. A good citizen of the nation votes in presidential elections, pay taxes, stay connected in politics, follows laws and peacefully protests if there is need to protest. A good citizen of the world stays connected in world politics, doesn't pollute the world, and treats the world right.

Before i thought that a citizen was someone who followed what the government wanted them to do and they were a good citizen in the governments eyes. Now i believe that to be a good citizen you should speak your beliefs and challenge the government. If no one spoke on what was truly right then there would be unjust laws. A citizen of a community helps to better the community by expressing their beliefs on what would make their community better or safer. a good citizen of the nation doesn't only think about their small community and thinks about what would be best for their nation. A good citizen of the world thinks not only of communities and nations but the good of the earth itself. without the world we live in we would have nothing.

Chris Paul is a good citizen of his community and our nation. He actively participates in events and fundraisers for underprivileged children and people in need. He also spoke his mind at the ESPY awards on recent violence and said that others should speak their mind as well.

Now, I believe a good citizen to be someone who participates in everything that surrounds them and being aware of the nation around them as well. A good citizen now means that you are not afraid to speak on wrongs and social injustices in the community or in the nation, and doing anything you can to improve things in your community/nation. Malcolm X represents a good citizen because he was not afraid to voice his opinions no matter what. Malcolm also gave back to his community on various occasions, and also tried to better his community as well.

Prior to reading "Civil Disobedience" by Thoureua I thought that a citizen is someone that is legally counted as a person thats part of a country, they can vote, be drafted and pay taxes. Now I see that a citizen as different sectors (community, national, global) that has to to all three work in one and work together. In a community someone should take care of the people are them, in a nation a citizen should follow the laws and participate in legal rallies that support minority rights, and globally a citizen should put other people first and focus on the future of the earth's environment and the health of the global economy. I picked Mahatma Gandhi as my good citizen because he displayed all the characteristics that I described a "good Citizen" and he believed in change for the good.

But now after actually reading his articles, I view citizenship as so much more; including, voting rights, working opportunities, educational opportunities, etc. Citizens should always be involved with the interactions of their country, but should also be an advocate of standing for what YOU as a person believe is morally right.

I am choosing my best friend, Victoria Okara-Ezeufo. She is a strong advocate of great citizenship in my eyes, and to many others. She knew what was happening at her school was something she totally disagreed with, and she stood tall, which made others follow after her. She voiced her opinion and she got the outcome she wanted.

Now after reading Civil Disobedience, I believe a good citizen to be somebody who follows laws that they believe to be moral. And they do not give away their independence and conscience to always follow the people in power. Also a good citizen is somebody who responds to their civic duties, and participates in civil responsibilities. A good citizen in the community would be somebody who is active in local politics, and who cares about what is going on in their local community. They will participate in local elections and stay educated about what is happening in their area. A good citizen of the Nation would be somebody who follows National Law, as long as they believe it to be morally acceptable. They will also participate in voting, and will stay educated on what is going on in the Nation as a whole. A good citizen of the world would be somebody who is paying attention to what is going on in the entire world, and makes daily life decisions based on what they believe is right. They will also try to contribute as much as they can to global efforts. Such as charity or donations to Nations who may have just had a National Disaster. JJ Watt would be an example of a good citizen in the Nation because he is aware of what is happening in Houston and through out Texas right now with the flooding, and has raised over 13 million dollars for relief funds.

Not all citizens are "good" to someones standards. Most "good" citizens in history are the ones who voice their opinion against the government. They stand up for what they believe in and don't let anything or anyone stand in their way. I aspire to have the courage of the Naval nurses who put everything they had into their job during Pearl Harbor. They adapted quickly and throughly to the situation at hand and I hope to be as influential to the people as they were when I become a Naval nurse.

Before I thought that being a citizen was just being born in that country, or taking the test to become a citizen. But now i realize that it is more then just that. Being a citizen dose not mean you have to run for office or do 1,000 community service hours. Being a citizen is to vote for what you think is right, being informed. Its not following the laws, yes some laws are important like paying your taxes things like that, but if you feel a law is morally wrong, then go against it, don't follow it. fighting for what you believe in is whats right, not just something the next president says. Civil disobedience is the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest. Being a citizen in the community, nation and world would be staying informed about that is going on in the world. One of the best citizens in my eyes is Obama, he showed great citizenship while he was president but even after, he continues to show it.

Before I thought citizenship meant being apart of a country and abiding by rules and laws to insure that our country is safe. Now I believe a good citizen is someone who will stand up for not only their rights but others also. A good citizen will put others needs before theirs especially if the others are worst than them. They also are not afraid to stand up for whats right or whats wrong in a society, they will be fearless in everything that they do or say but also respectable. They not only demand respect but also give it . A good local citizen gets involved with not only their communities but all that they can reach. A good nation citizen gets the attention of the people to get them more involved and they get higher parties to participate in the improving communities. A good world citizen has the voice to reach millions and the strength to carry them beyond great depths to achieve good around the world.
Michelle Obama to me is the prime example of what a good citizen is and what it takes to be a good citizen. She knows that not every one person is the same so you have to approach every situation differently and with a plan for success. She is very respectable and a stand up example of what we want every citizen to strive to be.

However, after reading "Civil Disobedience," I now believe a citizen is someone who is apart of a society, does the best they can to help improve their society, and does those things in a way to do no harm to anyone who disagrees. An example of a good citizen in my community is my cousin Rena because she dedicates every single day of her life to help dogs in need and expects nothing in return. An example of a good citizen in my nation is Miley Cyrus because she stands up for what she believes in and does anything in her power that she can to make a good impact on our country. An example of a good citizen from around the world is Mulala because she spreads what she believes in a peaceful manner all around the world and encourages everyone to be peaceful and stand up for what they believe in. An example of a person who represents an all around good citizen to me is Ghandi. Ghandi when the British was trying to take over India stood up for what he believed in so humbly. He was beat, hit, and abused countless times and never once did he stop standing up for what he believed in, and never once did he harm a single person in the process.

Now I believe being a good citizen is doing what you think is morally right or wrong. We all have our own voice, thoughts, and actions and aside from anyone else's view of your choices, your participation a citizen of the U.S. is all that matters. Civil Disobedience is defines in a variety of ways but to me it means disobeying unjust laws only to share what you think is right. An example could be from the Civil Rights Movement and everyone who acted in it. In a community, volunteering anywhere or just helping out others in general makes a good citizen. In a nation, acting in elections, sharing your opinion and respecting others' thoughts creates a good citizen. Globally, being a good person and participating in many economical event makes you a good citizen.

I think Zendaya is a good citizen because she does a lot for the public and especially for the young women of this generation by not only being a good role model but encouraging others to do the same. Whether it's about someones body figure, background, or involves the law, you know what's right and you have the right to express that. Positivity and good morals (in your own definition) are the two keys to being a good citizen.

Now I believe that a citizen is a person who does things for the good of people and not the majority because of a biased opinion from the government. And that the majority rule is not what is always best and shouldn’t be considered as a deciding factor for determining a good from a bad citizen. A good citizen
in a community could be a student at a school. They go to school and follow rules, and also respect the school environment. I think a good citizen in a nation is a person who pays there taxes and does everything the government requires. A good global citizen is someone who contributes to the world as it changes and adapts to their new environment.

Before I thought a good citizen was just someone who lived in a specific country, however my definition of a good citizen is someone who lives their live they way they feel is right through self respect and respect for others, while he has not broken any laws, no scandals or his name being thrown in the news Russell Wilson has been nothing but good in my eyes as a citizen. He's a good local citizen because he has given back to his local community not just with money but through service acts, and time. A good US citizen because he respects the country but speaks up in a RESPECTFUL manner his thoughts and ideas. Also a good national citizen because he has done everything that he does in the United States in other countries as well.

Before I though being a citizen was just being born in the US and being apart of society. Now I believe that being a good citizen is helping others and making the world better by doing whatever it takes to help. Being a citizen is a legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth, either native or naturalized. Kobe Bryant shows this because he does a lot for the basketball community and provides for the less fortunate of his hometown.

Before I thought good citizenship was following the law and doing civic responsibilities and duties. Now I believe that good citizens follow through with their beliefs and don’t follow an unjust government. Civil disobedience presupposes that one cannot obey a law, because it is unjust, that is, not morally right. For me, a good citizen in a nation helps and participates in predicaments in the nation and assess it. Thoreau is a good citizen because he protested his believes and stuck to them.

Now I believe that good citizens should still follow all civic duties and participate in the community but we should always fight for what is morally right and not just follow the crowd doing what is wrong while still respecting other’s beliefs. Not only was Ella Fitzgerald a great jazz singer, she also represents a good citizen because she was an active member of her community. She fought for civil rights at a time when it was against the rest of the country, she spoke out against injustice.

They go above and beyond for their country.

Now, I believe that good citizens are those that put action into what they believe in. Or those who follow what they think is right. They need to go above and beyond to make sure what they believe in is not ignored. They still need to follow laws but if they do not believe in them they should argue or defy them (stick up for their beliefs) knowing the risk in voicing their opinion.

They do all this while still obeying their civic duties and following a majority of their civic responsibilities though they may not be required.

A person that I believe resembles my opinion of a good citizen would be Roman Atwood. Although he may only be a YouTuber, he spreads a clear message to millions of his subscribers: Smile More. With every video he makes you are seeing his life, present and past. He shows how there is always a reason to smile no matter what happens. You will occasionally get to hear his opinions on major problems with the world.

My view point on what citizenship is hasn't changed, I still believe that a good citizen is someone who follows there civic duties and is political informed. But that dose not mean that they can't 'bend' the laws already in place. Lets use an analogy to help me better explain this. Lets say that there is a group of people surrounded by a wall, the wall represents the laws in place. Yes the 'wall' restricts them to some degree but it also keeps them safe. I see civil disopediance as an act of breaking the 'wall'. What I suggest is no to break the 'wall' but to work within the 'wall' and over time slowly push at its edges and mold it into what you desire.

Murdoch Murdoch is the sudo name and identity of a right-wing political cartoonist/comedian. While there are also two others who are close friends to Murdoch and help him with is animations, there sudo names being: Dr. Murdoch and Murdoch Chan. These three people represent three different groups within the right. Murdoch Murdoch representing the Libertarian party, Dr.Murdoch the Nationalist movement and Murdoch Chan representing the Nation Socialist party. But I'm only going to be focusing on Murdoch Murdoch. I believe that Murdoch is a good citizen because through his political cartoons and animations he has 'Red Pilled' many people, but what I love most about him is how he red pills his followers.

When trying to change someone ideology you can not force them into It, you also can't make it seem like you were the one to red pill them. You have to make them feel like they came to there own conclusion through there own research and study. The best way to do this is to just 'drop' in tidbits of information that will catch the audiences eyes. You have to make them double take and think "wait that can't be true" because of this they will most likely look up on there own time and accord what ever you just dropped in and hopefully through there own study they will come to the same or similar conclusion as you did. Murdoch and his partners do this perfectly.

Changing someone ideology is similar to working within the laws to change the laws. You can not rush the process, you have to ease them into it and make them feel like they are making there own decision.

But slowly after I began to take Government my perception of a citizen has changed and Thoreau taught me that. In Civil Disobedience he was the type of person that would not follow the Government laws because he believed they were not constitutional or represented the nation of how it should be. An example of a good citizen, someone who stood up when they were afraid of raising their voices and gaining their rights, would be Cesar Chavez. An American labor leader and Civil Rights Activists. Dedicating his life in improving the life of farm workers. Their treatment, pay, and working conditions.
