The movement of 6 million african americans out of rural southern united states to the urban northeast, midwest, and west that occured between 1916 and 1970. The african americans wanted to move to the northern cities so they could have freedom in more jobs and in the northern cities there is not as much physical violence as in the south.

The Jazz Age:

A period in the 1920's, ending with the great depression, in which jazz music and dance styles became popular, mainly in the united states, but also in britain, france, germany, and elsewhere. I feel like the african americans focused on jazz so much as a music option because it expressed their feelings and it makes them feel like they have a purpose (in the south they could barely do anything).

The automobile was a big change for american life some examples of big changes to the way you travel were highways and effects on railroad industry etc. Highways were a big change in american life because they could travel from one start to finish on the road instead of taking many turns. There was also business developments to make new cars for faster and easier transportation. With the railroad industry i feel like it had a bad effect on railroads because now people could of transported the goods themselves.

The airplane industry began as a mail carrying service for the U.S. Post Office. The first flight for this industry was a disaster. With the development of weather forecasting, planes began carrying radios and navigational instruments. Like I said in the automobile change I feel like the railroads had a bad effect on this because the airplane industry was another way to transport goods.
