The Lieutenant Governor is like our state's vice president!
Qualifications:
- Must be 30 years old
- U.S. citizen for 15 years
- Georgia resident for 6 years

Main role: Serves as President of the Georgia Senate and takes over if the governor can't serve, acting as the chief executive until the governor can resume duties or a new governor is elected. In Georgia, if the Governor dies, the Lieutenant Governor becomes the acting Governor. Unlike the federal level, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor run in separate elections in Georgia. The Lieutenant Governor serves a 4-year term and can be re-elected with no term limits. Pretty important backup plan, right? 📋
