*Celebrity endorsement - this is when a celebrity is used to advertise / promote a product
*A logo is - The M in McDonalds or the Tick in the Nike adverts. It is a small picture or image directly associated with the brand.
*A slogan is - a short catch phrase that is directly linked to a company e.g. 'I'm Loving it' or 'Just Do It'
*A Rhetorical question - is the type of question that doesn't really need an answer. E.G. 'Would you like to travel in style?'
Would you like to smile more and worry less? 
These types of questions are used to draw in an audience to make them believe the audience can give them something they want. 

*Emotive language or images can be used to make the reader feel emotions towards the advert/product. Hania's 'My Dad is a Liar' is extremely emotive. Companies do this with words and images or both! 

*Deals/ offers - companies use offers to persuade the consumer to buy their products.

All of the above are features of advertising companies use when merchandising !
