Student Agency: student agency allows students to have more "buy in" to what they are working on as well as take initiative over their own learning. An example of this would be choice boards where students get to decided from a couple of options how they want to complete the assignment.

Varied Instructional Strategies: to include all learners and promote engagement, educators can incorporate different instructional strategies. For example, a math teacher could provide the students with tactical pattern blocks that students can touch, move, and observe when learning about shapes. Manipulatives foster understanding and promotes exploration.

Reflect and adjust: After activities have an opportunity where students can reflect on what went well with the activity and what could be done differently next time. As the educator, use this feedback to adjust future activities.

Timers and Breaks: use timers to help create urgency within the classroom. Allow for short breaks in between for students to recharge.

Token economy: Students may feel discouraged or lack confidence when learning math. A good way to counteract that and instill a growth mindset is rewarding when students make mistakes or ask questions through a token economy. For example, if a student attempts a problem on the board and is incorrect. Have them figure out where they went wrong and reward the growth with a token economy.
