GroupMe is a widely used collaborative tool that allow for the creation of large named group chats that are cross functional. Any student with a device can download and use GroupMe to chat with their entire class, groupmates for a project, or individual classmates. They can pin and organize conversations that are important and add unique names and icons to identify certain groups. They can also change access permissions and share their groups with others.

G-Suite (Google Docs)

Google Docs allows for collaborative document sharing and editing. This is great for disseminating copies of information to a large amount of people. It is also perfect for group projects as students can work and talk with others in real time on their document.

Google Drive and eLC

Google Drive and eLC both allow student to submit assignments for review. Using Drive, students would automatically change document permissions for teachers to be able to provide in document feedback. In eLC, teachers would have to submit feedback in a text box that is then reviewed by the student.

Trello

Using Trello, students will be able to better manage their semester capstone project. They can create states to classify their tasks that will keep them organized and on schedule. They can also set project deadlines, discuss tasks with one and other, and assign tasks to specific group members. This will model and real life project management tool that student may use, should they pursue a position post graduation.

Padlet

Using padlet, you can present a clear view of different topics and product students will be interacting with or creating throughout the semester. Students will have access to descriptions, tools, tutorials, and more that may assist them with their work and allow them to easily find resources that they need.

Calendly

Calendly enables appointment scheduling that is easy and free. Students will be able to view available time slots and schedule a call for whatever length of time they feel necessary. They can even provide comments when booking that communicate topics they may want to discuss while on call. Students can also invite other classmates when scheduling.

Connecting with other teachers

GroupMe is not just for students. It can provide a great way for teachers within a school, county, district, country, or even just a subject to chat in real time with each other. GroupMe offers a multitude of configurations for admins and general members of a conversation that allow for seamless sharing and messaging.
