Lacy and Hugo are investigator lawyers for the Bureau of Judicial Conduct and they are on a mission to expose a corrupt judge. They are provided information through a confidential informant, who turns out to be less than reliable and dependable. Their search becomes more dangerous as they gather evidence and get closer to uncovering the mystery judge. My favorite character is Lacy because she is smart, caring, and persistent. She experiences challenges throughout the story, but she also doesn’t let these obstacles slow her down and only fuels her desire to keep investigating. This book would be good for people who like to read about the justice system along with mystery. I was engaged throughout the book by picking up on clues to help me figure out where the corruption was happening before it was revealed.

Dawn is a sweet 13-year-old girl that grew up with terrible home life. In her early childhood years, she experienced abused while living in a different country with her aunt and uncle. Moving back to her country her mother put her into foster care. Ruth was Dawn’s social worker. Ruth happened to remember that Cathy and John were looking to foster a child. Dawn moved in with Cathy and John as soon as she could. It took awhile for Dawn to fit in with the family and get to know them. When she started to get comfortable with Cathy and John she put herself into a lot of bad situations. My favorite character in this book was Cathy because she was a sweet young adult that tried her hardest to make Dawn a good child. She always bent over backwards for her many of times. She forgave Dawn for all of her mistakes. I was into this book the whole time I was reading it. I highly recommend.

This book was about a kid who lost his father that he was very close to. He played basketball with his father, worked with him and did everything along his side. He was a huge influence on his life. He really looked up to him and losing your biggest role model can be very tough. He had to go through a lot of hard ship and pain to overcome the depression from the loss of his father. I liked this story because it tells a good story and keeps the audience listening with intent to understand and follow along with the plot. The proper type of audience for this book would be someone that is struggling with the loss of someone or struggling to get through a certain situation. The book truly has meaning to it and is not a boring plain book. The book can go from a state of high success to a state sorrow and failure. All though there is loss, the main character (Jordan) always fights to come out on top and does everything he can to better himself. With the help of his grandparents, cousin, mom and other friends making it possible for him to come to a realization that things happen for a reason and you just have to see the bright side of things and not let it drag you down. The help of his mom that worked 2 jobs to keep food on the table and was always trying to help Jordan. The help of his friends trying to cheer him up and hang out with him

Rowan a failed scythe apprentice turned against the scythedom. He hunts down scythes that take too much joy in ending life. He is trying to change the direction the scythedom is heading. The new order scythe gleans without compassion or thinking they just do it for fun. Citra is good friends with rowan as they were in apprenticeship under the same scythe. She is trying to changing the direction of the scythedom in a very different way by using her voice. In the end, this book is all about good scythes fighting bad scythes. While the thunder (A.I. that looks after and controls humanity) sits back watches the scythe destroy the earth. I really recommend this series it was very good and full of action. Also, the author makes it really easy to connect with the characters no matter who you are. And its not like one book in the series is better than the other there all really good.

Ghost is a boy who comes from a poor life and only has one parent figure and that is his mom. He is an only child and his mom works her 🤬 off for them two. He often finds himself in trouble a lot at school and it is really hard on his mother. He then discovers something that will change his life and impact him hugely. He lands himself on a track teams and he knows he has to be good or he will be kicked off and the team is the closest thing he has to family. My favorite character is Coach because he knows the pain Ghost is going through, he knows what it is like to live that life. He teaches Ghost how to power through and never let it slow him down but to use it as fuel. Coach saves Ghost's 🤬 a few times but can't always bale him out because he needs to learn from mistakes and needs to be punished for them. Coach kind of treats Ghost as if he is his son and that is huge since Ghost doesn't have a father. This book could fit anyone and any gender, it isn't a boy or a girl book. I think that the teens will really enjoy it because it is about that teen life and a lot of people can relate because that is what is going on in real life and at every school. I couldn't ever put this book down because Ghost was always busy and I needed to know what happen next and I expected it to be about track and mostly him running, but it was about life and it impacted me a lot.

Melinda is just starting her Freshman year of high school but already has a reputation for busting an end of summer party. Although people didn't understand why she called the police, Melinda was hiding a big secret. Her life was changed forever because of the events at this party. Throughout the book her struggle with mental health and her struggle with high school is presented and soon, it’s learned why she called the police. My favorite character is the main character Melinda. It’s obvious she’s intelligent and kind but because of her traumatic experience she forgets how to do everyday tasks like going to school, keeping up on hygiene, and communicating her needs. I enjoyed watching her grow throughout the book as she slowly grows and gets her voice back. I recommend this book to anyone searching to understand the dilemmas of mental health in highschool and how being sexually assaulted can affect your everyday life.

Booked is a book for young adults or the upper middle school/High School range. It was a really good book for me because I could relate to a lot of what had happened. It tells of a boy named Nickolas whose life revolves around soccer. He is in 8th grade and just trying to make it to the next day with a smile on his face. That’s really hard for him because after his parents split up, him needing surgery, bullies, best friend, and girlfriend issues, he doesn’t feel well about anything. He goes through a lot of hardships right away, like, In the beginning, he finds out that his best friend is going to be on the rivels soccer team. That alone will hurt him and his best friend and who knows if they will ever make as friends or enemies in the end. Throughout the book his parents are not seeing eye to eye and end up getting a divorce witch, in the end, puts a lot of unwanted stress on nick. Tordes the end of the book the big final game of the year is coming up and he had unexpected injuries that he needed to go to the doctors for and take time to heal. Will he ever be able to finish/ go to the game? You will have to read and find it out for yourself. :)

Frodo, a small hobbit that doesn't even know how to fight has the ring however he can't give the ring to anyone else or they would be corrupted by the desire for the ring. Frodo is a small hobbit barely 4 foot tall. He has been tasked with destroying the ring which you can only do with the fire of a volcano called Mordor. Sam is his trusty sidekick. He stays true to Frodo the entire time even though he doesn't know how to fight either. They are defended by four warriors, a dwarf and elf and two men. They are all very skilled in fighting and defending Frodo for most of his journey. I think if you like science fiction and fantasy you would like this book.

This book is in the 2 perspectives of Miranda and Parker. There has been a mass shooting in the mall that these 2 characters are in. Miranda turns out to be trapped with 4 other people and they end up looking for her help to get them out safely. I put 4 stats because there were a couple times I was confused of lost as to where they were in the mall and what exactly was going on. Miranda is one of the main characters who is addicted to the drug Oxy and isn't a very outgoing person. I think that Miranda should stop doing drugs because when she does she said she gets irritated and angry and I think if she would let off the drugs then she would be more happy with herself and life. Parker is also not a very outgoing person but he will do what he has to in order to keep the people he loves safe. I like that he is very loving towards his family and friends and puts his feelings below other's feelings. This book would be appealing to anyone who likes murders, mysteries or different given perspectives.

Isabelle is very quiet and never really eats during school because she wants to eat a lot at home and then go to the bathroom and self-induce herself to vomit. She has body confidence issues and wants to be skinny. I don't like how Isabelle wants to be really skinny and match everyone else in school. She is very fit and shouldn't have to be any skinner. One day Isabelle gets caught in the bathroom self-inducing herself by her little sister April(who she calls Apeface) and her little sister tells her mother. Isabelle's mom makes her attend Group Therapy where she meets her best friend Ashley, who is the most popular girl in school. Attending group Isabelle learns that she is beautiful just the way she is and she doesn't need to self-induce herself to vomit to feel good or happy. I think this book is good for teenagers to read and to learn more about and what some teens could be going through.

Twilight circles around a 17 year old girl named Bella Swann who lives in Forks, Washington. Bella recently moved to Forks with her father Charlie Swann. Bella goes to high school and made new friends there and even found a love interest. His name is Edward Cullen, and she is attracted to his good body, good face, and mysterious personality. Her relationship with Edward started kinda shaky, they didn't get along well, but overtime the two fell deeper in love with each other to the point where Edward tells Bella what he really is... My favorite character in the book is probably Edward because I like his enigmatic yet caring personality. I personally thought the book wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad either. I went outside my comfort zone when i read it to see what I would think of it. I never really cared for romance novels, this one was somewhat enjoyable though. If you like romance novels, I'd recommend this book to you. In my eyes, the book was 3/5 stars. It wasn't bad, it was just not for me. However, I am sure others will likely really enjoy this book.

They are both going through things that no-one knows about. They come together to help each other after both suffer major tragedies. Maggie is a quiet girl who doesn't talk and holds all of her pain in by not talking. West is very outgoing and on the outside appears fine while inside he is struggling to make it through the day. I like how they both do everything that they can to help others around them, even though they are going through a lot of pain. This book would appeal to all those who need something to feel like they can relate to and those who like adult sad/drama books. This book is very good at reeling you into it more and more by adding random little details that make the story play out as more of a movie rather than just reading it. It is a very easy read for anyone looking to get more into reading or for high school students. I would 100% recommend this book because it truly does make you be thankful for all that you have and for the people that you have in your life.

It is about a football team and their star player Ben. It is about his life and the challenges he goes through. He is always accompanied by his 3 friends. They call themselves the core four. They share everything together and maintain a lot of loyalty. Ben is one of the most heartfelt loyal people. He is always there for his friends even if he has his own problems. He loves football and would give anything to become the starting QB. I like how he is a very real person. He never talks trash about anyone even if he doesn't like them. There is a charter in the book named Shawn. He is rude and mean to Ben but Ben still tries to be his friend. He never stops either. This book appeals to almost anyone but mainly people that play sports. it is a really good book. it is about a lot more than just football it is about everything around it.

This book is about four teens who get blamed for a murder. They were blamed for the murder of a fellow student. Everyone has secrets that could be exposed. The four main characters include Addy, Bronwyn, Nate, and Cooper. Addy is the pretty popular girl. Bronwyn is the super-smart perfect girl. Nate is the shady juvenile detention guy. Cooper is the always nice, fun to be around person. I like these characters because going through this traumatic event really brought them together in friendship. I would say that my favorite character would be Addy. She is my favorite because throughout the book she has many personal growths. I liked all the characters. This book would appeal to young adults. It would also appeal to people who like mystery books.

He wanted two hounds for 🤬 hunting, well he wanted one but then he seen the other puppy and instantly fell in love so he had to get both. He had to train them and get them ready for there first night and the dedication for him was real, his life long dream was to go 🤬 hunting with his pups and he did that and more. He was young but he new more about the mountains and where the 🤬 hid more then any other person around. About a year later, his spidey-sense starts to mess with him. His uncle's last words continue to haunt him. "you're just like me..." Miles questions whether he can be Spider-Man when crime runs so deeply in his veins. Along with help from his friend and roommate at Brooklyn Visions Academy, Ganke Lee, Miles may once again have to save the day. I highly recommend this book to teens and comic fans. It's a solid 4.5/5 stars, I could barely stop reading once I started.

Chris McNeely was the head coach for a struggling football program. His goal was to bring them back up to the top but in order to do that there were many bumps along the way. He met some legendary coaches who helped him get back on the right track to lead him to success. The Wisconsin State football team was going through lots of ups and downs on the field and off the field and so was Chris. Chris really cared about football and was really stubborn at first until he finally opened up and started listening to others. Herb Brooks was an all time great soccer coach that led one of his teams to the greatest underdog story in sports history. He had some great advice to never back down to anyone. Think Like A Warrior is a good book for anyone who likes football. If you are wanting to be a coach this has some great lessons for you that will help you.

All Bird Barrett wanted for her life was to be a normal teenage girl but, her life was everything but. She grew up traveling America with her family band which meant no high school memories, girls’ nights with her friends or late-night McDonalds runs with her boyfriend. All Bird knew was her RV, Violin, and moving from town to town every night for shows. Her life strayed even further from normal when she signed a record deal with Open Highway Records. This brought even more hard work and determination along with many late nights and early mornings all with a love interest in the mix to turn her life upside down for good.

Overall I would give this book a 4-str rating.

I rate the book Tweak a 4/5 star rating, it was a great read and an amazing story. Tweak is about a man who is battling addiction, off and on with being sober but never feels right either way. When he’s high he feels numb, free, lost, and a little scared because he’ll never know when it’ll be his last high. He ends up going back to the city and relighting a friendship he forgot about. Nic is the main character who is battling addiction, he has lost everything but tries his best to get it all back. Lauren is finally getting sober free of addiction, until she meets up with old friends and realizes how good she feels when she's high. I really like how Nic even in the wrong state of mind takes care of everyone no matter what. I would definitely recommend this book to people who haven't dealt with family or friends who have been through addiction, to get the real feel of it all. An addict wrote this story, addiction is real.

I like Danny because he has a great mentality and has faced lots of bad things and always getting through it. He also is a great leader for his football team taking over plays and helping out his other teammates to make the team better not just helping himself. Carter helps guide his brother to make the right decisions along his journey. Carter's roommate Alex also goes through an injury like Travis. Both boys get exposed to drugs that will "help them heal faster". These drugs are dangerous and powerful in good and bad ways. They affect Alex a lot. This book would be great for athletes who are passionate about their sports as you can relate to Travis's passion for football. I loved the book because there were times I could relate to different characters. There were also times where I just learned life lessons from the boys' experiences. I even read this book a little outside of class so I do recommend it to anybody that has any interest in it.

This series is about a fight between what is right and what is wrong. After believing that Scythe Anastasia died, Scythe Goddard takes control of the entire Scythedom. After realizing that she has risen from the dead, he may finally have some competition. This series has had me wanting to read more the entire time. The end of the series is going to be a tough pill to swallow.

You’d Be Mine is a story based off of two main characters; Annie and Clay. Clay is known as a famous country singer at only 18 years old. He plans to travel on tour during the summer but has gotten in some trouble. His record label made a deal with him that he could continue the tour, if he could convince Annie and her band to open for his show. Annie is a very down to earth person who lives in the middle of nowhere, but yet has been surrounded by music her whole life. Annie’s parents were once the most famous country singers ever, but sadly had committed suicide because of the “fame”. Annie struggles throughout the book to deal with this situation because once she agrees to go on tour, she wants to remain true to herself. When Annie first joins the tour, her and Clay often clash and don’t get along. Clay tends to portray himself all tough like he doesn’t care about anything in his life. Throughout the tour Annie realizes Clay is suffering from unforgettable experiences, and he almost loses himself. Together these two are able to unleash something special within themselves and possibly something between the two of them as well. This book is written from the perspective of both characters which allowed me to get to know them both really well! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys music, love stories, or drama as well!

Bri is an aspiring rapper in The Garden. She is a young black girl that is trying to better her family's situation. She is hot headed and determined to make it out. They are losing money because her mom was laid off of her job at the church. Bri starts by making her way into "The Ring", where artists from around the area come to freestyle battle each other. Bri easily wins the battle and obtains major publicity after her win. She goes on to record more songs and soon gets into contact with someone who used to manage her father when he made music. He lands her a chance at a record deal, but expects her to fake who she is and "act hood." She denies the deal because of this and continues to grow with her own publicity and eventually lands a feature with a huge, unnamed, artist. I liked this book quite a lot, everything was entertaining between the connections to THUG and with the plot. I wanted to keep reading to connect the dots. I also enjoyed the connections to the protests and issues with cops we have today.

He joins the national guard just as riots start to break out in capitals around the United States. He gets sent on a mission to control a riot at the capitol Boise in the heart of Idaho. Unfortunatly among all the confusion a bullet goes off and they are ordered to shoot on the protesters with live rounds. The govener of Idaho decides to protect the Idaho guard. Unfortunatly the entire state is forced into a lockdown and can't get supplies from other states and prices skyrocket. Because of all these changes people are forced to choose wether they want to side with America or Idaho. Throughout the book it had many cliffhangers which forced me to keep reading.

Kate and Hunter are best friends who love to do stuff together. After one bad mistake, Kyle Stone never sees the football field again right before playoff time. Now the football team is left with no quarterback and Kate is starting to catch feelings but not for the guy who did her wrong and everyone's lives suddenly change. My favorite characters are Kate, Hunter, Kyle, and Kates dad. I like these four characters the most because they bring out a good understanding of situations that happen that then reflects many other people in their lives. Kate is very inspiring and tries to do her best, Kyle is very athletic and tries to be smooth about certain stuff that later costs him, Hunter deeply has a crush on Kate and they get their school work done together, and Kates father is super protective over their family even though it gets a little out of hand, runs for the election and is a hard working man. This book is a must read for people who are ready for surprises and are interested in elections and government policy but also a good read for girls and boys who enjoy reading the romance side of what these characters experience in the book Interference.

Cheyenne was sitting in the back seat of her step-mom’s car while her step-mom, Danielle, went into the pharmacy to get Cheyenne medicine. She ends up getting kidnapped by Griffin. Griffin and Roy, who play the roles of the kidnappers, own a family business of stealing cars and then selling the cars for money in return. Cheyenne has to figure out ways to escape while facing two big challenges: being blind and alone. Cheyenne is a blind, innocent girl who has pneumonia. I liked Cheyenne in the book because she seemed so strong. She was obviously kidnapped and was taken out to a cabin in the middle of no where without communication from anyone. She has to escape through the woods without a clue of where to go and what direction to head. Cheyenne’s father is the founder of Nike, and when Roy, the owner of the family business finds out about it, he instantly wants money before returning her. I really enjoyed reading this book and if you prefer reading books of suspense and mystery, this book is definitely for you.

The book, Go Ask Alice, is a book full of all of an unknown young girl's diary pages. The author named this character Alice. Alice is a young girl who is currently moving away from her hometown because her dad received a job offer. Alice knows how important this offer is to her family and her dad. After the family has moved in Alice decides that she wants to make some new friends so she goes out into the town and finds Beth. Beth invites Alice to a party that night and Alice decides to go, but that was a mistake. Alice starts getting into drugs and basically prostition. Does Alice continue to do drugs and sell her own body for money? Alice, the main character has gotten into drugs and things that she shouldn’t be doing as a 13 year old. Although Alice acts like a sweet and innocent girl around her family, with her friends she is a totally different person. As a reader I loved seeing all the drama in this book, and that is what kept me reading. This is a good read for anyone that likes drama and action. I really enjoyed reading this book!

Kya is a young girl with a very chaotic life. She was abandoned by her alcoholic father and her mom was out of the picture very early on. She lives a lonely life but she never lost hope. A boy by the name of Chase has had a crush on her for a long time and finally decides to walk up to her one day. They end up having a strong connection from the start. A friendship stems from this. Kya never had a person to trust so this was all new to her. Chase ends up trying to peer pressure kya into doing things she's not comfortable with and this pushes her away. She ends up taking a break from him and focuses more on herself. She meets another boy named Tate. Tate was a great guy and kya fell in love with his kindness and loyalty. He ends up teaching kya how to read and use education as an escape from her home life struggles. They fall deeply in love and are constantly spending time with one another. While kya was taking a walk one day, she discovered the body of her ex best friend, Chase. She tells authority, but is now a prime suspect in the crime. Tate ends up leaving for college a lot sooner than kya expects so they end up doing long distance. She now sees life from a new perspective. Though she had endured a lot of trauma, she never let this stop her from achieving what she had planned. I enjoyed this book and related to kya in some aspects. I loved that she kept pushing for what was right in her life and kept a positive attitude.

Just the way the book is laid out is good. the theme for the book would be brotherhood. throughout the whole book they became brothers. The plot would be the training that lead him up to where he is now and what he has accomplished.

American Sniper***** Chris was a well trained soldier, he was very good with a sniper rifle. He is said to have the most confirmed kill in the military. He traveled a lot of places, being put in dangerous situations, but he never backed down. I would say Chris is a great guy for this book, reason being, he is the author of his book. He tells his perspective, his wife also talks about her thoughts on everything. I think anyone who enjoys a good war story will easily fall in love with this book, it’s incredible how detailed things can be, he explains certain weapons and places he’s been. He also includes some images later on in the book, the more you read the better the story becomes. American Sniper is definitely the book that doesn’t disappoint.

My book, The Last Boy and Girl in the World, was about two highschool students and what happened their senior year in Aberdeen. The book starts off with Keely and Jesse, the main characters, helping the rest of their peers place sandbags in preparation for the flood that was being predicted. The book tells about how Keely has a major crush on Jesse, but is too nervous to do anything about it. Well, as the story continues, everyone in Aberdeen is worried that they are going to have to leave the town. After the flood, there was lots of destruction and they believed that the mayor had different plans for the town. As the plot continues to twist and turn, Keely and Jesse become close, and they make a pact to be the last ones in Aberdeen if everyone is forced to leave. I think Keely because she is super sweet, and Jesse is a favorite because of his dare-devil attitude and is always looking for a good time. I would recommend this book to any highschool student. It has a powerful message about living life and not taking anything for granted. It tells a story we should all hear.

Michael is a kid living in Germany. His parents are spies for the allies and he helps them do their jobs. Michael is in the Hitler Youth and he attends school. In school, a new person shows up and his name is Fritz. Fritz is very weak but very nice as Michael thinks. Michael warms up to him because they sit right next to each other. Then one day they are taken out to the country to look for an allied pilot that was shot down. Michaels finds the pilot from his inevitable death. Fritz and Michael both get farther into the Hitler Youth and Simon the pilot dies while starting a new plan to save a VIP. Fritz was brainwashed into insanity by the Nazis and he believed in everything they did. Michaels parents were ambassadors till they escaped Germany before they were caught. In the end, they save the VIP, and Michael and his parents reunite in Switzerland. I like this book because it was an actual thing that happened and most of this was based on the truth.

Cole Allert: Scythe by Neal Schusterman

Rowan and Citra are two teenagers in a perfect world. There is no war, famine, or disease. Death has been cured. To stop the world from overpopulation, the Scythes were created. Only Scythes have the power to take life from another human. Neither Citra nor Rowan like the idea of the Scythe one bit, despite their acknowledgement of their importance. However, when the two are chosen to become Scythes themselves, the perfect world they live in falls apart. This book would be best suited for a teenager because they, like myself, will be able to relate to the characters in more ways than one. This book has lots of twists and turns in the storyline and that really helped me stay engaged throughout the entirety of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a dystopian novel with a great plot.

Cadence is a highschool girl that is going through a bad spot in her life. She comes from a rich family who fights alot. Every year her family will go on a vacation to an island. One year she has an accident and ever since that day she has been sick and has constant headaches. She sees many doctors but no one knows what is wrong. She drops out of sports and is failing school. She doesn’t remember what happened the night of her accident. After a few years, she returns to the island in hope of answers. She wonders why her three best friends haven’t reached out to her and she demands an answer. I like the main character because she cares about others. This book would appeal to young adults. I really enjoyed this book and was very engaged in finishing it.

The flock consists of six kids who were all genetically modified to have wings, Max (14), Fang (14) Iggy (12) Nudge (11) Gazzy (8), and Angel (6). They were raised in dog crates at a lab they learned to call “The School” before one of its scientists (or whitecoats), Jeb, broke them out. Jeb raised the flock for two years before assumably dying, after that Max took charge of the group and raised them for another two years before they were found by Erasers. Erasers are genetically modified people who have wolf DNA grafted into their own DNA when they were young. Erasers only live for around five years and were built to act as guards to the school, not to keep things out but rather inside. Not only were they made to guard the school but they were also made to hunt down the flock after they had escaped, and not resting until they were either caught or dead.

After the long summer vacation at her grandmother’s house, Claudia returns to school as an eighth-grader. However, something isn’t right. Claudia’s best friend, Monday, has gone missing. Claudia begins her search for clues and anything to uncover the truth about Monday’s disappearance. Claudia’s investigation begins with lies and ends in betrayal. Suddenly, Claudia remembers the heartbreaking truth. My favorite character is April, Monday’s older sister, she does what she has to do to get by. She is strong, brave, and a loving sister. She experiences losses and times when she must hide the truth, but she perseveres and comes out stronger. I believe anyone who enjoys reading about real societal issues and mysteries would enjoy this novel. I enjoyed trying to follow along with the different points of view and the new clues along the way.

He was drafted in 2009 to the Golden State Warriors, when he was drafted he was stuck in between two positions including point guard and shooting guard he could shoot great and also finish great. Stephen Curry is a great player, he is the best shooter the NBA has seen alongside Ray Allen for the best 3 point shooters. Stephen Curry has only a few hundred three pointers made to pass Ray Allen for the most 3 pointers made, Ray Allen made 2,973 in his career and Stephen Curry is still active in the league with 2,664 made threes in his career. Stephen Curry will be the best shooter in the NBA even once he retires, Stephen Curry just won the 3 point contest for his second time in his career.

When Shawn was shot Will followed three rules that both will and shawn were taught to follow when something like this happens. Shawn cares for his mother and he would risk his life to go and buy things for his mom so she could get better. Will stayed strong when Shawn was shot he loved his brother and went to the extremes to get revenge for Shawn.
