Forest School is a different educational approach, as it is using the enviorment outdoors to teach children and letting them expolre and express themselfs in a different way as they might in the classrooms.
All children will have a different aspets of learning. So this means a classroom may not work for some children. on the other hand the Forest School may work wonders for other children, meaning their confindence and self-esteem may strive, this could be because of these children may find hands-on learning much more better for themselfs, than being in a classroom.

Principle One
One of the principle in taking children to forest school is to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners. All of these life skills will help children when they grow up. Children will need to have their independents to help them grow and develop. When at a forest school children will be gaining Physical, Social, Cognitive, Emotional, etc. skills. all these will coming in handy in the children's life .

Principle Two
The second principle is about the children taking supported, appropriate risks to the environment and also to themselves. It is important that children take risks to themselves as they need to learn from them should as walking across on a wet log but have been warned that it may be slippy but still go on it and fall. This will help improve children's initiative and learn more about risk assessments.

What can children benefit from Forest School

Physical development-
Children that go to a forest school, can build up on their physical development. The children will be outside exploring nature surroundings. They will do this by running, walking around looking and picking objects up like leaves, worms, frogs and the tools that are handed out. By the children using the tools to build other resources, they will be gaining their fine motor skills. They will also gain gross motor skills, this could be through climbing on trees and climbing frame that may of been built. they will be using their muscles. The children will be gaining life skills as well as they will be using tools to build forts/dens, swings, tree house. Etc.

Staying safe-
Children will learn how to behave and deal with unfamiliar environment situations. Children will also be learning about the use of tools and how to use them safely. The children will be encourage to think for themselves, such as what risk would they be if someone was to play around with the tools. this can also just be in certain situations, i.e. climbing tree or stepping out of the area there not meant to be in. Another example could be how many children should be in the den. The children will be encouraged to make their own sensible decisions, and will be able to go and follow that decision out after talking to a member of staff, and no harm will come to them or others.

Enjoyable and achievable-
Children going to forest school can just be as enjoyable as going to the park. Children will love learning about the world around them, and about the nature habitats. an example of this would be learning about different types of tree just from the leaves. Children will be able to play some games and do some role play such as looking for creatures, ie bear, monster etc. also children may role play 'Going on a bear hunt.' Children love this book and they do tend to react it. All children and any kind of milestone will be able to achieve something from going to a forest school, whether that's making something like a peg with an stick, could be something small or big.

http://www.deanclose.org.uk/Forest-School-Fun
