Russell is more like Iris because there   both determind.  Russell keeps trying to help Carl and Iris keeps trying to ride Rain and won't give up. Rain isn't trying to do anything. Russell and Iris want to achieve their   goal and Rain doesn't have a goal in Iris and Walter. People who are determind to  achieve their goals like Russell and Iris. Iris dreamed of riding rain so she was determind to ride rain. She listned to walter  because he  knows about horses the reason we know is  because rain does not a lot of things in Iris and Walter.
