A pitch to an American publication surrounding orchards that tells the tale of the British/Pagan Wassailing. Both how it came to be, how it died, and how it has come back from death in the modern era. It would be both fun, quirky, and potentially offer scientific/spiritual insight as apple trees don't often do well in America.

My own identity crisis

Writing about my experience of being a British Pakistani. I will be discussing my personal issue with growing up within the Pakistani community and how the media has changed my views on if I really am British enough.

In regards to who I will be pitching to, I am going to research publications within Luton and other areas within the UK that have a large Pakistani community.

my proposed feature is titled “Why the ‘fun university experience’ leaves so many students feeling lonely.” it explores the gap between how uni life is glamorised and how many students actually experience it, using student voices alongside research on loneliness in higher education. the piece is designed for UniFresher, as its audience is predominantly UK university students who engage with lifestyle, wellbeing and culture led journalism. the topic aligns with UniFresher’s focus on student realities, mental health and reflective storytelling.
