This article connects to what is happening today because it is another form of voter suppression purposefully from the government in order to have the election go a certain way so trump wins. The article says that lines are longest in democratic states and that the poll places are limited with technical difficulties. Isn´t it a coincidence how this is all happening when a majority of biden voters are voting early and trump voters are waiting until election day. The voting lines would only move because people were leaving. This article connects to the elections today because the government knows the people are stronger then them and they are trying to shut down a bigger force then themselves, so the elections will only go the way they want it.

Voter turnouts have caused long wait times that sometimes even take up 10 hours or more. Although an unusual factor was observed, in which primarily democratic areas have long wait times, meanwhile conservative areas have shorter wait times. Perhaps this is fueled by the fact that the conservatives plan to vote last minute vs the democrats who vote as soon as possible. Consequently people are leaving the line to vote in massive numbers, yet this sad reality is ignored by government officials’ deceit. Ultimately despite having prepared for technical issues and malfunctions, many states like Georgia are experiencing/undergoing tech issues once again. Yet the hope of being able to vote this election has encouraged many to wait these long lines.

The article about 10 hour voting times for early voting used for voter suppression connects to events going on today because recently on the local news it shows how there have been really big voting turnouts in places like Georgia. Many places are willing to vote because they want their vote to be counted, they want it to be validated, while other people are tired of waiting 8 hours or more in bad weather conditions etc. Many people leave the line as they are discouraged looking at these long waits and its harder for older people too. People say that they have seen these extreme conditions in previous years on actual election day but never really in months before. People are voting so early because they want immediate change fro this country but its getting harder as new ways of voter suppression are put in place.

You see these extremely long lines in historic elections. Minutes later, rain began to fall in the parking lot where he stood with hundreds of other eager voters¨. This shows how the voters are being affected because they are basically being starved just for the wanting of voting and do not offer them anything , which make people not want to vote because they get hunger and weak due to not eating. If it was not for that one voter giving out snacks it was not likely many were gonna keep voting .

As people rushed to the lines for early voting, the lines were excessively long. The voting system blamed the long lines to high voting turnout, not enough voting machines, and the technology issues at that time. The long lines came to the point where voters had brought chairs, snacks, bathroom breaks for the wait which could have taken up to 12 hours during that day. Some voters even gave up and left the line to vote. The long lines were intended to stop peoples ability to vote from having to wait in line for hours which can take a physical and mental strains on the voters to cause them not to vote. Even through this, it was still apparent that people were willing to wait to cast their vote for the future president.

In the article " 10 hours waiting times, for early voting" the connection i see happening in the article and the world around us is voters suppression. People are having to wait a lot of hours just put their votes in when voting is suppose to be quicker. In Georgia they are having limited voting locations and people are forced to go on long ride to vote. This is voters suppression because they closed polling locations in predominantly black and latinx locations . This makes it very hard because they can't wait as long in lines because some may have disabilities , some may have work or have other things and end up leaving and then on election day they can't go for those same reasons. This connects to what Greg Abbott did in texas who is republican governor restricted the number of drop boxes for completed ballots to have one per county. when there is 4.7 residents in Harris County whom 70% are non white and are able to vote . This is voters suppression because that 70% is gonna struggle to get there vote in because the governor is making it hard for them distance and time wise .
