The book Grenade is a book about WWII, it is written from two perspectives, one of an American soldier who is 18 and one of a Japanese soldier. Both perspectives tell the story of the fighting and experiences each soldier goes through, Both sides write about the soldiers and who they are, and what their view on the war is. They both hate the war and want it to end. At one point both soldiers are in the same room as each other, the Japanese soldier is playing dead and the American is searching the room. About halfway through the book, the two soldiers meet again and the American ends up getting killed by the Japanese soldier's grenade. After that the Japanese soldier goes on to find his sister and survive the war with her.

The book night is a true story written written by a holocaust survivor Ellie Wiesel. He starts off by explaining how life was at the beginning of Hitlers rise to power. He explained that Jewish people were started to be mistreated and punished for little things. When Hitler became more powerful the Nazi soldiers started to come into their city and patrol, they then eventually started to move the Jews to ghettos, a enclosed city with little resources and they could not leave. Ellie ad his family were then transported to Auschwitz where he stayed with his father, and his mother and little sister where split up and never seen again, the most believed reason is that they where killed because they were too weak to work and would be no good to the camps. Ellie and his father then worked as hard as they could and ellie's father became weaker and he witnessed him get brutally beat multiple times.

His goal is to sneak around the SS officer's offices and obtain information about the war and how the germans were planning their attacks. He would then send this info to the allied powers so they could prepare for attacks and come up with better strategies to conquer the germans.
