         <description><![CDATA[<div>An anemometer measures wind speed and wind pressure. It is a common instrument in weather stations. Meteorologists use anemometers to study weather patterns. How the anemometer works is that the wind blows into the cups and the anemometer spins.          <description><![CDATA[<div>A wind vane is an instrument that measures the wind direction. It points in the direction that the wind blows in. The wind vane is also called a weather vane. They are found on top of a variety of buildings like barns, and cathedrals. Under the fin, there is going to be four posts that reads "N", "E", "S", and "W" (north, east, south, and west) that help you determine the direction of the wind. To use a hyrgometer first you fill up a water bottle and screw it onto the hygrometer. Hang the hygrometer on the wall or a tree, and leave it there for 5 to 10 minutes before taking the measurments. It uses a material that attracts moisture and changes depending on how moist it is. A hygrometer has two bulbs: one wet and one dry. After some time the water on the wet bulb evaporates and at that time the temperature is measured on both bulbs. The difference between the temperatures is each used on a chart to find the relative humidity of that temperature and area. One of the uses of hydrometers are when manufacturing medicines, some of the ingredients are hygroscopic, meaning they can absorb water from the air.
