1. STEAM project could incorporate the 16 UN GLOBAL GOALS (to which the UAE are a signatory country). This goals are very relevant to the every day lives of our students. The students could be asked for example to design a piece of technology to address one of these goals. Or each year group could be allocated one goal and required to design a technology to address that issue in relation to the UAE/Another country.

2. A common issue with the STEAM project is deadlines and pacing, subjects should be given a gantt chart for deadlines of the project for example 2 weeks for the proposal (design subject/sciences), 1 week for the prototype (engineering). The students should be graded according to these submissions. As every the English department seems to be left with the task of directing students. For example I always start with the STEAM project in week 1 of every term, but more often than not students never meet the deadline I give them.

Firstly, we need to ensure that the students are excited about this project and that it is not just another tedious task which they have to complete in order to get a mark.  We should have workshops or events in which to fire the enthusiasm of the students.  They must be able to take ownership of their Steam Project. Each student must be engaged in a part of the project and feel that they are creating something special.
Furthermore, more thought should be put into group members and who the leaders should be. Students should be accountable to each other in order to complete the Steam Project.  Supervisors should be allocated to each group so that their work could be monitored and the students get the necessary support that they require.

STEAM teachers and support staff should have a certain time each week to carry out inter-school cooperation, in order to facilitate the sharing of STEAM education experience among different school teachers, and jointly enhance the effectiveness of STEAM education. 
Teachers should guide students to "understand themselves" and "how to be part of teamwork" and other basis, to help students master how to overcome challenges.
