Progressive Vs. Liberal

That depends, somewhat on context. All Liberals were once Progressive. Progressives are sometimes Liberal, but not all Liberals are Progressive. Also, in the United States, “Liberal” is often used to describe someone on the political left, but this usage isn’t common elsewhere.

Here are some key differences between these political ideologies and parties:

Conservatives generally support tradition, small government, free markets and individual responsibility. Liberals favor more government intervention, social welfare programs and social change.
Progressives seek more rapid social and economic change through government action on issues like inequality, discrimination, health care and climate change.
Democrats currently represent a diverse coalition including liberals, progressives and some moderates/conservatives. They support issues like universal healthcare, environmentalism and abortion rights.
Republicans currently represent a coalition of economic and social conservatives, libertarians and some moderates. They favor smaller government, tax cuts, gun rights, business interests and restrictive immigration policies.
Not all conservatives are Republicans and not all liberals are Democrats. There is some ideological crossover between parties.

discount rate, which is the interest rate charged by the central bank on the loans that it gives to other commercial banks. For example, if I am Bank of America (a private bank) and I need to borrow money from the central bank, they will charge me a discounted interest rate compared to what I would charge a customer to borrow money from me. It is important that banks can borrow money at a cheaper rate than they charge customers because banks make money by charging interest. So if they are charged the going interest rate to borrow money from the central bank, then the banks won't make money when they loan customers money.

reserve requirements, which determine what level of reserves a bank is legally required to hold. This means they must have a certain percentage of their value in cash on hand at the bank. This is to ensure that if someone came to withdraw money from their account that the bank could actually give them the money in cash.

Jacksonian Democracy

According to history.com Apr 4, 2012 — Jacksonian Democracy was an authentic democratic movement, dedicated to powerful, at times radical, egalitarian ideals—but mainly for white men.

What this means: It is during this time that the property ownership requirements in order to vote were ended. Additionally, Jackson saw himself as the people's president. He invited the common man to the White House to meet with him and would have big parties on the White House lawn for anyone and everyone who wanted to attend. However, while Jackson and his followers saw him as being very democratic because he opened up the white house and government to the people, his critics at then time felt that he acted more as an emperor than a President, leading to the fouse political cartoon at the time. Modern historians are critical of the racist views and treatment of African Americans (free and enslaved) and Native Americans.

Are dark ads just called that because they're normally in dark colors/negative? Or is it something else? (Also, do they connect to dark money, or is it called that just because of the same negative deal?)
