         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi, All.<br>I used to get SO nervous during presentations. I could teach a class just fine, but, when I attended conferences, I would clam up and fly through my slides. Now, I focus on making myself the presentation, and I put less energy in the PPT. I use the PPT as a guide, but, when I practice, I focus on knowing what I'm going to say. My presentations have gotten much better, and I appear more confident.&nbsp;<br><br>What about you?          <description><![CDATA[<div>After listening to the video "Your body language may shape who you are", I learned a great deal on the impact of confidence in a presentation or interview.  The speaker used examples of how our body language can have a significant impact on our during these stressful situations. It helped me realize that there are many others who struggle with nervousness also, but that there are ways to overcome this.  Standing in front of the mirror with arms outstretched, or sitting in a chair "pretending" to have already accepted the job, helps individuals significantly during the interview itself.  Great methods to incorporate when a potentially stressful situation is upon you!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I truly enjoyed the video of David Phillip "Death by PowerPoint".&nbsp; He made some very good points about controlling the narrative of your presentation.&nbsp; I have always been taught less is more, in terms of number of slides, but never that-in terms of information on each slide.&nbsp; However, I have never been one to cover an abundance of information on one slide, but I never thought about using contrast, in the way he explained.&nbsp; Which perfect sense, and made the slide appear a lot less chaotic.&nbsp; I will definitely use this technique.&nbsp; In addition, to covering one topic-at a time and reducing the size of text, not related to what is being covered.&nbsp; My focus will be 'less is more'.&nbsp; As far as body language, this is usally not an issue.&nbsp; However, I have been known talk faster, when nervous.&nbsp; My remedy is usually speaking louder, to reduce the nerves.&nbsp; For some reason, it works.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have a tendency to get nervous when I am doing presentations and that sometimes makes me rush through them. It puts me in a slumped position, looking at the floor and just suffering each agonizing second until it's over. After watching the body language video by Ms. Cuddy, I now realize that I was giving off a negative perception to my peers and to myself. I need to start holding my head higher and finding time to practice those power poses so that I can apply them in during my presentations. Then I eventually won't feel the need to rush through and I will convey a seemingly deeper understanding of the topic that I am discussing.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I try to do everything just right which most of the time makes me very nervous. I watched the video by Ms. Amy Cuddy, it has helped me to pay more attention to my posture and body language. Also, the video was an inspiration too.&nbsp; She over came a lot of adversity, and became who she is today. I can do the same. I will stop always thinking wrong, what I call stinking thinking. You are what you think. I will think and have a more positive outlook of myself, more confidence in who I am and what I can doing. Eventually overcoming my nerves.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am a work in progress when talking about my presentation style. Like Amy Cuddy credited somebody in her life for pushing her limits, I have my elementary school teacher to thank for this. When I was in second grade I lost my mother to cancer. After she was gone, I was overwhelmed by my loss, responsibilities as a big sister and became very shy, closed in, started to stutter very bad. My dear teacher took me under his wing and pushed me to read in front of the classroom, be in the school play and later in 4th grade to go to the poetry club. Even in middle school, often times I would see him in the hallway and he would ask me if I was still working on myself.&nbsp;</div><div>In high school, I was the one that read her PowerPoint as fast as she could and be happy to be over. Later, I realized how much I hated that and made efforts for my PowerPoint presentations to be just an aid and to make it more interactive. I am still nervous when presenting but I think that is somewhat normal. I still work on my presentation style and to be aware of my body language, but it is much better now than it was even a year ago.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
