- If it were legalised then it could be taxed in the same way as alcohol and cigarettes, which would raise lots of money for the country.
- Some people have criminal records (for possession of cannabis)  that can hinder their futures. Should you really have your future blighted because you have chosen to smoke a plant?
- It has been proven to be useful for medicinal purposes and has been legalised in a host of countries already so maybe the UK follow suit in the near future.

- It has been linked to an increase in mental health problem, including drug induced psychosis.
- Cannabis is normally the first illegal drug that people. By legalising it would we be saying it is ok to take drugs and promote youngsters to experiment with other drugs.
- Smoking, in any form, is bad for your health.
- Some people develop a dependency on cannabis and remain 'addicted' for large portions of their lives.

-there wont be too many people in prison and the police will have more time to deal with more important things.
it could be a way of income for some people $$$. kids would not be able to get it because it would be sold in shops specifically for cannabis and would have an age limit (21) to buy it. the government would be able to control how it is sold and who gets it. drug dealers would be put out of business. some people use cannabis to calm down and there would be less violence. 

against - there would be more road traffic accidents due to drug driving.

With some exceptions I think it should be legalised & taxed but as it produces a very pungent smell I wouldn't be happy walking past people smoking it outside restaurants & pubs for instance.
