Cons:

Often, students immediately stop the behavior when a Code 2 is called – indicating that they only respect the authority of admin or Tier II team or somehow realize they crossed a line.

Hearing “Code 2” being called often triggers the student to lashing out further and doubling down on behavior.

Forced class removal by admin creates embarrassment and shame in a way that damages the relationship between staff and student.

Sometimes the Code 2 initiates a new power struggle whereby the student refuses to leave the classroom for several minutes, if at all.

The practice could even foster a sense of alienation from the school community, which is counterproductive to the overall growth and development of the student.
