They love the myths. They aren't a fan of the skills lessons.

It was difficult to remember the unusual Greek names, but we've been reading the myths twice and their journaling is showing understanding.

In skills, the students think the dictation sentences and tricky words are too easy.

I like the decodable readers, but would like to see more reinforcement/practice with individual phonics skills -vs- jumping around so much.

Some of the workbook pages don't seem challenging enough in regards to skills taught.

The magic 3 pages, and the horseshoe as they read the words pages don't seem very worthwhile. I love that the comprehension practice with the decodable readers has students writing the page number that has the answer. I also love the written responses.

Additional activities to reinforce practice for the spelling tests.

It is taking me longer than the allotted time to teach everything, so I was skipping the additional practice activities. I've used the spelling game this week. We'll see if it helps increase scores.

They love the Greek myths.

My class is enjoying the stories and journaling about them. It has been a great way to check for understanding about characters and plot.

My class misses Fundations, our current phonics program. They said it makes more sense to them. They also have mentioned that Fundations doesn't jump around as much.

We reviewed one of our Greek Myths and did a first/then activity. 2nd grade, Lesson 5.

My 2nd graders love the stories with our Greek Myths lessons, and they are able to retell the read-alouds quite well. They get mixed up with the names of the gods/goddesses and other characters, but they can describe who they are and what they are known for. They also are doing very well with the journaling pages that go with each myth.

The students enjoy the decodable reader paperback stories. Having their own smaller book is very nice, compared to the larger textbook, but they really liked being able to write in and highlight in the other pilot's workbook that included the stories. Most do well showing text evidence with page numbers on their workbook pages. They enjoy the games, for example, Word Block. They had to correctly read their word cards in order to place them on the game board and they tried to get tic tac toe lines.
