Firstly, let’s talk about the aspect of life. How was life like? Good? Bad? Well let’s look at it from the harsh perspective of life during the JO.
People of Singapore struggled with survival during the JO, dealing with shortages such as food and basic necessities. Inflation too came up on rise. Dealing with disease and death due to lack of basic medication especially for the POW’s (Prisoners of war). Relocation too was an issue. Having to grow own crops due to lack of food and money shortages, people were encouraged to relocate in order to have fresh tapioca and vegetables while ensuring the success of the growth. Secondly, let’s talk about “the same”. Life was the same for everyone. Everyone faced equal problems and issues as stated in the first keyword, Japanese Occupation.

Thirdly, “everyone”. Everyone being the people of Singapore experienced issues. This is more of a follow up to the keyword, “the same”
