She undertook a Masteral degree in Health Education after Diagnostic Radiology Residency. While jumpstarting her career as a Radiologist, she also applied to teach in a Medical school, to fulfill her passion. Given her qualifications, she was accepted as an Assistant Professor of the Departments of Radiology.
Months before the start of the academic year, Dr. Flores participated in a curriculum review workshop along with other faculty members of the Department. She was among senior Radiologists that included two former Department Chairs, a Board examiner, prolific researchers, and distinguished lecturers. As the youngest and newest faculty member, she was very proud but anxious and cautious about her words and actions.
As the workshop progresses, she realized that the curriculum has remained essentially the same for the past years. Excited to contribute and apply her recently gained knowledge, she politely participated in the discussions to introduce much needed innovations. However, the group has not favorably received her ideas and suggestions.
