Use brain breaks- make brain breaks a reward after reaching a goal of focused learning. Increase the amount of focus time between each brain break.
Have clear expectations- establish a routine that stays the same even when activities change make students feel safe. Teach rules with an activity or acting it out. This strategy may also teach social skills.
Reduce potential distractions- always seat students near instruction. Designate a certain study or workplace in the classroom that is distraction free.
