JoAnn's Fabric has tiny precut fabric in every color that fit perfectly. You can probably search crate seats on pinterest and find the directions! A cheaper option would be to use pretty colored paper and sleeves you could even tape with painters tape to make sure it doesn't move
Lastly, you can create dry erase covers on your composition noteboooks!

Cheap and they LOVED it. What I loved the most about both of these options is they fold up and store away when not in use. All camping chairs folded up and were put right in front of room. We worked until bell, it took them only a few seconds to fold up and bring to the front.
