Civil engineering helps produce roads, bridges,  canals, dams, and buildings. Some other civil engineering can help produce airports,irrigation, sewage systems, and railways.  I like the first path better because I find the structures of bridges and buildings to be interesting. On average, civil engineers get payed $68,638 per year. Salary will also increase pay,having a skill in project management will increase pay as well. I would like to be a civil engineer because I find it interesting how large buildings are built and how bridges manage to stay put and not move. May use computer aided design as a core requirement. After you have taken the core courses you will begin to take more in depth classes, such as Thermodynamics and structural analysis. Generally, jobs will want a four year bachelor's degree, some positions may need higher.  Civil engineers that use their services for the public must achieve professional engineering state licensing requirements. The requirements include  four years of work experience and to complete two exams administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. Most states require education to be continued to keep the license. Tennessee costs roughly $47,456 for out of state students. When my family and I visited Tennessee, I was interested in it as soon as the tour had begun.
