How Has Poetry Changed Through The Years?

Poems have been changed throughout the years. Many poems that were written as stories or to tell people something have now been changed into songs and trying to tell people a story through the song. now there are also many types of poems such as Acrostics, colour, alphabet and autobiographical for example.

Poets are usually influenced by their surroundings and events which are happening during their time of writing. Things that happened 100 years ago aren't happening now so many
poets do not talk about the same subjects. 100 years ago poets were writing about the war.As technology has changed so has the subject matter in poetry. As modern poets tend to write about the future. They tend to think about tomorrow rather than 100 years ago.

She innovated lyric poetry both in technique and style, becoming part of a new wave of Greek lyrists who moved from writing poetry from the point of view of gods and muses to the personal vantage point of the individual. She was one of the first poets to write from the first person, describing love and loss as it affected her personally.
