Awarded an MBE for his service. Battalion - Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (Great Great Uncle of Jack, Lewis & Adam Woodall) https://padlet.com/mr_richards/u2d794xf1lik/wish/205488476 Served in WW2 starting in the Home Guard as under age, transferring to Army for training and preparation for the D-Day offensive.  Landed on Sword Beach on D-day and fought through in Operation Market Garden. He was a Bren carrier driver, Mechanic and heavy machine gunner.
    Awarded by the French the Ordre National De La Legion D'honneur  for his  part in the operation. Sadly passed away earlier this year aged 94.
