I think the best way to make sure all learners can access the material is to vary up your teaching approaches as well as the lessons you present. Some students are more project based learners, while others work better with assignments that push them creatively. Still others like to have a standard or traditional organizational style.

I provide copies of blank notes to my students so they can focus on solving the problems and making the sketches rather than mindless writing. This is required for some of my students with IEPs/504s but it benefits all of my students.

I am making connections here to a similar presentation I attended last week at Willow Oaks. We learned about making google docs accessible with grackle. I'm considering how /when to implement this in my work this year.

Helpful UDL strategies for a language class include giving students a tech tool like Adobe and telling them to tell me about themselves in a cartoon format. A rubric is provided, but the outcome is flexible and up to each student.
