Race is an important issue in any community, however too often I feel that we marginalize our inter-racial communities by presenting minority survival, and thriving, as a purely straight, cis, male, able-bodied endeavor.

I am passionate about intersection in oppression, and I want to connect minority cultures with their intersections.

I propose a series of Ball(precursor to drag)/Talent Show events that celebrate the unique strengths of the Black, Latinix, gay, transgender, and other racial and queer minorities.

Each event would center around a central theme, one event might be music, the other dance, and would draw on every culture's unique aspects, with a structure based on inclusive-thinking, and judgement-free cultural interaction.

Slam poetry/vocal music/instrumental music podcast

Every week/ Fortnite we choose one artist who is involved in activism and showcase their art and talk to them about what they do.

The podcast would also feature certain business and initiatives that promote race relations, equality, and equity such as the Nelson Atkins Teen Council.

At the end of the podcast we would have a
performance each time.

I think with all three schools coming together we can all start a project like a video perhaps showing how the violence and racism going on around the school affects students, the education system and families.
Social media is a big thing so we should make a page where people can share their own stories about how these things have affected them

Doing a series of photos that represent people and their backgrounds and bring light to a specific culture that is represented as a minority. With those photos comes a word or sentence that the person or group feels represents their culture and want others to know.

I really liked the dance idea, having all three schools come together for that. We could also have students from each school play music as entertainment?
Or we could do a cultural festival, like students here can come together to make booths representing their culture and make it interactive? Something like that

Interacting with the elementary schools and middle schools within our areas. In middle school kids don’t care about what adults say, but if they think you’re a lit teen they’ll listen. Same with elementary.

Making newsletters and school magazines (shared between the three here) monthly of what some students are doing to contribute to their community, the art that'll inspire others to change, podcasts that'll eventually go viral and we can take calls and help other students or people who struggle with not being comfortable in their own skin. Eventually, we'll have meet ups and walk places. Wearing certain colors to show that no matter what we are united. I don't know. I'm rambling.

Branching out to different community programs and coming together with those programs to create a collaboral program in different community’s. We could do things like youth conferences, Out of state trips, team building events every month , community out reaches , go to elementary schools to talk about race , have a 5k “Race walk”, etc

I like the idea of doing a cross school thing, like a poetry slam or a joined art show. I also like the idea of a podcast, however I am unsure of how to implement that idea across several schools

-make our own newspaper focusing on the issues that no one seems to want to be talking about

-collaborative poetry groups between the schools

-when talking with younger kids in more diverse schools, make sure to include different languages so that it's more memorable for those who speak a different language

- the prom between schools sounds like a good idea, especially since it's good to spend time with people that you know wont kill the vibe with something ignorant

- when you're supporting a racial change and movement, you have to include every kind of person that is within that race(multiple sexualities, backgrounds, etc.), but "transracial" people don't count straight up
