I will attempt to become a high school teacher, teaching students art or world history. I would prefer to teach ceramics for art and for history I would teacher world history. I have been thinking of this career path since 10th grade and is something I can actually see myself doing. I’m not doing the job for the money, and if I was, there is none in this career. I would like to teach high school I feel like I would get bored in a middle school or a elementary. I do like kids though.

Teachers work around 40 hours a week. Teachers wake up early and get to school to pre pare for the day. They get at least one break per day, maybe 30 minutes. They also might work overtime as they might have papers to grade or creating assignments.

In Texas the range of the salary for teachers are from $49,240 to $65,116, but on average is $56,404. It all depends on certain factors such as experience and educational degrees. They have alright benefits such as dental, vision, retirement. But I have read that the retirement benefits are pretty bad. They do get at least 2 months of vacation and I guess that good.

A teacher is someone who takes responsibility in teaching students the necessary information that they will require in the future. Teachers are supposed to be passionate humans that want to have a impact in the students life and see them in their full potential. I personally think teachers are important but most of them can’t to their job correctly especially the old one who have gave up being nice.

Much of my inspiration in pursuing the career of a teacher is heavily influenced by the teachers here at Hebron including Mrs. Russel, Mrs.K, Mrs.G, Mr.Prock, and Mr.Hopper. While in their classes I felt how passionate they were in teaching and I found it really cool and inspirational, especially Mr.Prock and Mrs.Russel. They have their own way of teaching and talking which makes you want to go into their class and actually enjoy it. But my biggest inspiration I would say it’s the bad teachers. They inspired me to be something they aren’t, and that is to be a good teacher.

Plan After High School

After high school ends I plan to go to Collin community college to get my associates. Then I will transfer to a 4 year college, I’m not sure which one yet, but I’ll probably go to a small one like Harvard or whatever. I will probably get my masters since teachers get paid more if they have a master degree. After all that I will hopefully pass all the exams and apply for a teacher position. I wish to stay here in Texas at the moment, in the district of Lisd. If I do successfully become a teacher I will also get a degree in finance to become a personal accountant.

I would say to be a good teacher you have to be good in communicating with the different ages of the students you teach. Also probably creative, especially as a art teacher since you want to influence The students. Another helpful skill would be to be patient, I think this is a big one, you might never know what the limits on a student is.
Self discipline is also a good one, you need to have everything under control, especially the students.
